Anyone with urology-related concerns can probably find a solution in S H Ho Urology and Laparoscopy Centre. The centre’s all-inclusive range of urology services is a huge advantage for us.
First, imagine not having to go to different clinics for consultations for yourself, your parents, and your children. Yes, the centre carries out assessments for seniors, adults, and children.
The resident urologist of the centre is Dr Ho Siew Hong. We named him one of the best urologists in Singapore for his professional and communication skills.
In terms of professional skills, Dr Ho can perform minimally invasive procedures, including laparoscopic surgery. Given the nature of these services, recovery time is greatly reduced.
In the fast-paced world we live in, most patients do not want to be stuck in recovery for long. Of course for faster recovery, accuracy during the procedures matters.
A number of Dr Ho’s patients praised him for being meticulous not just during the operation. His attention to details is consistent from consultations to post surgery and even follow ups.
In terms of communication skills, Dr Ho can speak four languages fluently: English, Bahasa, Malay, and Chinese. Expats and tourists are happy to be treated by the good doctor.
Also under communication skills, we take note of Dr Ho’s exceptional bedside manner. Dr Ho’s expertise is in men’s health services.
Patients with problems like erectile dysfunction and low sperm count also mentioned that they felt comfortable consulting with Dr Ho despite the sensitivity of their conditions. That’s a definite plus for us.
Pros
- Offers comprehensive services
- Performs minimally invasive surgeries
- Fluent in four languages
- Communicates well with expats and international patients
Cons
- Greater focus on men’s health services

We simply cannot choose between the two Tans of Tan Urology. Dr Lincoln followed the footsteps of his father Dr Robert, and together they have more than 45 years of experience.
As a founding member of the Singapore Urological Association, Dr Robert is a shoo-in when it comes to the best urologists in the country. His availability is a problem though.
Dr Robert is not always in the clinic, so walk-in patients have little chance of consulting with him. Patients intent on seeing him must schedule an appointment.
That said, we are pleased with the tele-consultation service offered by Tan Urology. Even though Dr Robert is not often in the clinic, patients can still get hold of him.
Of course, patients can have Dr Lincoln to look after them. The son possesses skills that make him a favourite among repeat patients.
Aside from his remarkable medical skills, Dr Lincoln is commended for being thoughtful and thorough. His specialisation is men’s health.
Having reproductive health problems can be emasculating. Many patients endorse Dr Lincoln for being sympathetic – he truly lives up to the ‘compassionate’ part of the clinic’s slogan.
The clinic also offers delivery for medications. This convenient service is relatively pricey though.
Pros
- All-inclusive urological care
- Available for tele-consultation
Cons
- Not best for female patients
- Pricey delivery fee

Another urologist in Singapore worth taking note of is Dr Ong Chin Hu, the man behind Ace Urology Clinic & Surgery. Similar to those in this list, Dr Ong completed training overseas.
In particular, he studied, worked and trained in Australia, Switzerland and Japan. We find him very knowledgeable, to say the least.
What we think distinguishes Dr Ong from the urologists we named here is his specialisation. Although also competent in dealing with men’s health, his expertise is uro-oncology.
Male and female patients suffering from urinary tract cancers can benefit from Dr Ong’s proficiency. He diagnoses cancers such as kidney and bladder as well.
Moreover, he is trained to perform robotic surgery. If you are looking for minimally invasive and robotic urological surgery, then we suggest seeing Dr Ong.
Some of the positive reviews for Dr Ong highlight how compassionate he is. Specifically, he takes extra care of geriatric patients.
Don’t worry if you are non-Singaporean. International patients are well-taken-care-of, too.
Dr Ong speaks fluent English, Mandarin, Hokkien and Bahasa. Miscommunication is not an issue when you consult with him.
Seeing how knowledgeable and well-liked Dr Ong is, we think his patients can benefit more if he offers tele-consultation. It’s really the one thing we view as a con.
Pros
- Offers a wide range of services
- Specialises in urinary cancer
- Performs robotic surgery
- Communicates in four languages
Cons
- Tele-consultation unavailable

Colin Teo Urology provides complete urological care. At this point, you may already see a running theme here.
As we already mentioned, we like it when the range of services is comprehensive. In this aspect, Dr Colin Teo’s clinic is not much different from others.
What we love is that women are equally welcome. After all, Dr Colin’s specialisation is not men’s health.
He is lauded for his robotic and laparoscopic surgeries. This comes as no surprise given his fellowships in robotic and minimally invasive surgeries in the USA and the UK.
This experience with cutting-edge surgery is a plus for us. If you want someone well-versed on the latest technologies for urological care, then you can ask for Dr Colin’s help.
Even fertility treatments can be availed in Colin Teo Urology. It is safe to say that the clinic has a ‘one-stop-shop’ approach.
In line with such an approach, Dr Teo’s clinic accepts many types of healthcare plans. Rates can be pricey for patients without insurance though.
On the flip side, the clinic is transparent with the pricing, so patients will not be surprised with additional fees. The staff also assists patients without insurance on how they can still be treated.
Pros
- Offers wide range of procedures
- Specialises in robotic surgery
- Accepts male and female patients
- Accepts many types of healthcare plans
Cons
- Expensive rates for those without insurance

We feel that this list warrants a female urologist. And out of the few female urologists in Singapore, we choose Dr Tricia Kuo of Urohealth Medical Clinic.
Urohealth Medical Clinic makes Dr Tricia the go-to person for female urology. As a female, this is expected.
Are you suffering from overactive bladders or urinary incontinence? Dr Tricia treats female patients with these conditions.
What’s unexpected is that Dr Tricia specialises in reconstructive and adolescent urology. She belongs to a very small group of doctors.
There are hardly any female urologists and paediatric urologists in Singapore. You can understand why we find Dr Tricia remarkable.
If it’s not you but rather your child who is suffering from a urinary problem, then we won’t let you down with our recommendation. Dr Tricia is the urologist to see.
In fact, she received the ‘Service with a Heart Award’. Her excellent service was acknowledged not only by those in the medical field but also her patients.
We love that Dr Tricia is accessible to her patients seeing as she sets aside time for two locations of Urohealth Medical Clinic. But her hours for these locations are not readily available.
Patients need to call the clinic to learn about Dr Tricia’s schedule. If they cannot see her in person, they can opt for the tele-consultation service.
Pros
- Ideal for female patients
- Specialises in reconstructive and adolescent urology
- Won ‘Service with a Heart Award’
- Serves two clinic locations
- Available for tele-consultations
Cons
- Clinic hours not constant
