Priya Sen Skin & Laser Centre is run by Dr. Priya Sen, a dermatologist with an impressive educational background. She has a double degree in Medicine and Neuroanatomy from the Univerisity College London and a Diploma in Genitourinary Medicine in the UK.

These accolades and her 14-year experience with dermatology and lasers at the National Skin Centre enabled her to create a holistic dermatological approach. Furthermore, she developed her own skincare line called PS Skin, which she recommends to her patients.

Since Dr. Priya Sen has expertise in laser treatment, most patients normally visit her for hair and tattoo removals, and treatments for scarring and pigmentation through lasers. 

From our surveys, we noticed that she has many loyal patients from her stint at the National Skin Centre. Even when she left the centre to open her own skin and laser facility, patients have been known to seek her own in her clinic even after many years.

On the downside, we should mention that her clinic’s reputation gained some dents due to some rude staff and expensive prices for consultation, products, and treatments. Nonetheless, her many loyal patients still swear by her approach and treatments.

We have to mention that many of the negative reviews came to be during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. While it may not be the case, we think that the situation contributed to their less than stellar performance, and this is definitely something they should improve.

Dermatology & Co. provides a tailored integrative dermatologic approach to caring for their patients. Notably, they specialize in treating families, from children to teens and adults, for any skin concerns.

The unique thing about Dermatology & Co. is that they also focus on sexual health issues. They provide screening and treatment for sexually transmitted infections and HPV vaccinations.

At the helm of Dermatology & Co. are two experienced dermatologists, Dr. Tan Wei Sheng and Dr. Ker Khor Jia. Both have expertise in medical, procedural, and aesthetic dermatology for patients of all ages.

For us, one thing that stood out is the location and facility of Dermatology & Co. They have a modern-looking clinic with beautifully designed interiors where their patients have reported feeling relaxed and at ease while waiting for their consultations and treatments.

Furthermore, this facility is equipped with the latest Picosecond and Fractional Carbon Dioxide Lasers in their treatment room. They also have a separate recovery area to maximize the privacy and comfort of their patients.

Another good thing that Dermatology & Co.’s patients mentioned was the thorough and approachable attitude of Dr. Ker and Dr. Tan. Moreover, the patients were even more content with the availability of follow-ups through WhatsApp.

Overall, we like that Dermatology & Co. offers a wide range of services suited for each member of the family. It is also refreshing to see many comments in our surveys that praise the good bedside manners, attitude, and thoroughness of the entire staff in this facility.

3. TWL Specialist Skin & Laser Centre

TWL Specialist Skin & Laser Centre is run by one of Singapore’s most sought-after dermatologists, Dr. Teo Wan Lin. She is also often found in TV shows and interviews discussing dermatological issues like skin diseases, skin care, eczema, and sensitive skin.

Furthermore, she is a resident beauty specialist in magazines such as Daily Vanity, Harper’s Bazaar, Men’s Health, Female Magazine, and Thread by Zalora. As such, she has published her own book entitled, “Skincare Bible – Dermatologist’s Tips for Cosmeceutical Skincare.”

Dr. Teo Wan Lin also has a strong academic background and training. She trained in the US after graduating from the National University of Singapore and is a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons (UK), and a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine (Singapore).

On the other hand, we were disappointed to learn that consultations with her are only pegged at 15 minutes per patient. According to our surveys, some patients were disappointed as they felt rushed, given that the consultation fee is on the higher side compared to other clinics.

Moreover, some patients felt like the clinic was overselling and pushing their products, and these are minus points in our book. 

Nonetheless, their clinic staff is quick to respond to issues and negative feedback. It’s good to see that they explain their side well, but their explanations sometimes come across as too defensive.

We understand that Dr. Teo Wan Lin is a busy personality, given her skills, fame, and other activities. However, we definitely think that they can put more effort into rectifying the issue of some patients instead of merely defending themselves.

Overall, TWL Specialist Skin & Laser Centre is a good choice for patients looking for an expert in medical and cosmetic dermatology. Most of the patients we surveyed were pleased and satisfied with how Dr. Teo Wan Lin showed her expertise in healing their skin conditions.

4. Angeline Yong Dermatology

Dr. Angeline Yong is a multi-awarded dermatologist with over 15 years of clinical experience. She was also a previous consultant at the National Skin Centre (NSC) and was the pioneer and lead of Hair Transplant Services at the centre.

Notably, Dr. Yong’s other area of concentration apart from hair transplants is Mohs Microscopic Surgery. For patients who want the smallest scar possible during an excision, Mohs surgery is a good option to consider since it conserves the greatest amount of tissue. 

What we found impressive with Dr. Yong’s background is that she has had vast experience through fellowships in different countries. She earned her Hair Transplantation Fellowship at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York, and then Mohs Micrographic Surgery Fellowships in UK and Korea.

It’s also noteworthy that aside from being an accomplished clinician, Dr. Angeline Yong also finished her Masters in Public Health at Harvard Univerisity.

Remarkably, she was awarded by the late President S.R. Nathan for her several medical mission trips. Her outreach missions in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka led her to be noticed and awarded the Healthcare Humanity Award.

We like that Dr. Angeline Yong is a reliable dermatologist, based on the feedback we received from our surveys. Her professionalism and expertise show in the satisfaction of her patients who were treated for a wide range of dermatological issues.

Furthermore, we’ve noted that the patients at Angeline Yong Dermatology have praised the attentiveness and friendliness of Dr. Yong and her staff. From children to elderly patients with skin conditions, Dr. Yong and her team were praised for a good overall experience.
