When it comes to accessibility, The EyeClinic by Dr Cheryl Lee tops our list. This should not come as a shock seeing that founder Dr Cheryl Lee Aeschliman can be reached 24 hours.

Aside from Dr Cheryl’s willingness to see clients in an emergency, we think the clinic is popular for a number of reasons. Firstly, Dr Cheryl is an expert in treating myopia.

In particular, her training and experience enabled her to be the go-to ophthalmologist for childhood myopia. She is globally recognised for myopia management.

Secondly, the clinic offers a wide range of services. We are pleased that most eye problems can be solved here.

For instance, non-invasive vision correction treatments are offered. These include implantable contact lenses or ICL.

Several clients praised the clinic’s ICL. They especially like that this solution requires minimal to no downtime, unlike LASIK.

Minimally invasive treatments are carried out for childhood myopia and dry eyes. Of course, surgical procedures are also performed, such as those for cataracts and presbyopia.

Thirdly, the EyeClinic is a favourite among Singaporeans for its thorough screenings. Before any treatment is applied, Dr Cheryl sits down with clients to cover all bases.

Finally, Dr Cheryl and her team are fluent in multiple languages. Expats and international patients feel comfortable going to the EyeClinic.

Being able to converse in English, Russian, Spanish, French, Teochew, Cantonese, Hokkien, Malay and Mandarin enables the staff to easily build rapport with international patients.

The costs of treatments are on the higher end. Nevertheless, clients continue to recommend Dr Cheryl and her clinic for excellent service.

Pros

  • Expertise in myopia management
  • Known for ICL and dry eye treatments
  • Provides surgical and non-surgical treatments
  • Fluent in nine languages

Cons

  • Relatively high prices
  • Less emphasis on surgical procedures

Hesed stands for loving kindness and steadfast loyalty. As expected, Hesed Eye Specialists is distinguished from other eye clinics in Singapore for its compassionate service.

And compassion is exactly what most people want in their doctor. Proof is that Hesed Eye Specialists has a perfect 5-star rating in Google Reviews.

Clients cannot help but compliment Dr Owen Hee and his team for their exceptional customer service. What’s more, such a service is consistent from start to finish.

The knowledge and professionalism of Dr Owen are also admired. His detailed explanations during consultations are mentioned often in the online reviews and our survey.

Dr Owen worked as senior consultant ophthalmologist for many health centres before. Thanks to his 15 years of experience, he developed his skills in glaucoma and cataract surgery.

In addition, he underwent training to perform treatments for age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, myopia control, retinal and other eye related conditions.

We love how easy it is to schedule an appointment at Hesed Eye Specialists. Particularly, we want to compliment whoever designed the online scheduling system.

At a glance, clients can easily check for available dates. They need not wait long for their consultation.

The prices of treatments are reasonable, too, well within the range set by the Ministry of Health. The clinic also accepts many types of insurance and modes of payment.

Pros

  • Compassionate doctor and staff
  • Extensive range of services
  • Efficient scheduling system
  • Accepts insurance

Cons

  • Closed on Sundays

If your concern is retina-related, then look no further than Asia Retina. This is the eye clinic for cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye, macular degeneration, detached retina and floaters.

Dr Claudine Pang, the resident ophthalmologist of Asia Retina, is known around the world for her skills as a retinal eye surgeon. Many patients visited the clinic after hearing about her.

Given how many retinal surgeries she has under her belt, we are not surprised that she is highly skilled. She also likes to explore innovative ways to treat patients.

Now imagine pairing her knowledge with state-of-the-art equipment. We can see why several patients rave about Asia Retina.

The clinic comes through with its guarantee of safe and efficient solutions to all kinds of eye problems. Even services to ensure eye wellness are offered.

We also like the mobile app of Asia Retina. Aside from accessing their records and scheduling an appointment, clients can do basic eye exams through their phones.

The friendly Asia Retina staff deserves a mention, too. Going to the doctor for any kind of concern can be unnerving, so extra service such as beverages and sweets is welcomed.

The costs are higher than typical fees. Yet, more than a few clients insisted that the price they paid was worth it.

Pros

  • Expertise in retinal surgeries
  • Modern equipment
  • Own mobile app
  • Accommodating staff

Cons

  • Closed on Sundays

JL Eye Specialists offers a total of 61 procedures. This eye clinic can very well be a one-stop shop for all your eye concerns.

Considering its wide range of services, deciding a course of action to, let’s say, correct your vision can be overwhelming. You spend much time thinking about what kind of surgery to take.

That’s why we take satisfaction in the fact that clients undergo suitability assessments first thing. The eye specialist can then make an informed decision and customise a treatment plan.

In addition, thanks to Dr Jimmy Lim’s accomplishments as an eye surgeon, JL Eye Specialists is a top-rated eye clinic even among international clients.

Many clients overseas go to Singapore for the sole purpose of seeing Dr Jimmy. And they are not disappointed with how they are cared for by the staff at JL Eye Specialists.

Overseas clients are assisted in terms of accommodations, visa requirements and GST refund. That customers gave the clinic a 5 out 5 rating seems justified.

One thing we do not appreciate is that prices of the services are not readily available. But at least the clinic accepts many types of insurance.

Another thing is that they are closed on Sundays. As the clinic caters to Singaporeans and international clients alike, opening on Sundays can enable them to serve more customers.

Pros

  • 61 diagnostics and procedures
  • Suitability tests
  • Exceptional assistance to foreign clients

Cons

  • Lack of pricing transparency
  • Closed on Sundays

The first word that comes to mind when talking about eyes is eyesight, right? We believe that most people’s concern when it comes to eyes is vision.

This is why we included EMME Visioncare in this list. No, it is not simply a store selling spectacles.

EMME Visioncare’s areas of expertise are actually orthokeratology and myopia management. It offers vision correction solutions that utilise the most recent products and technologies.

Orthokeratology improves the vision of customers through contact lenses by reshaping the cornea. What clients love about this is it works whilst they are sleeping.

You may hesitate going to EMME Visioncare because there is no in-house ophthalmologist or eye surgeon. Seeing as it only offers non-invasive solutions, you will not need an eye surgeon.

Rest assured, the optometrists and opticians are all board-certified. They are more than equipped to conduct full eye examinations.

A client shared how she was pleasantly surprised with the eye examination. She claimed that it’s like consulting with an ophthalmologist because of the detailed explanation of the results.

If you are looking to correct your vision without undergoing surgery, then you won’t be disappointed with EMME Visioncare. It’s even open on Sundays, so it’s fairly accessible.

Pros

  • Non-invasive solutions for vision correction
  • Comprehensive eye examination
  • Offers traditional and latest lenses
  • Offers orthokeratology
  • Reasonably priced products

Cons

  • Does not address other eye problems

Philip D Izaac is an enterprise that provides its clients with comprehensive and holistic eye care services and has been one of the most trusted and reputable clinics in the industry to deliver such services.

We like that they are able to provide their clients with a wide variety of eye care and eyewear brands such as Moscot, Tom Ford Eyewear, and Lindberg along with other supplies to ensure that clients can have easy access to their needs.
