Pros
- Utilizes technology to achieve long-lasting results
- Uses products and equipment from Switzerland and Germany
Cons
- Scheduling conflict
- Increases price without prior notice
Dental Designs Clinic is one of the go-to clinics for root canal treatment in Singapore, and it’s quite easy to know why!
First, this top-notch dental center is home to a team of world-class doctors who have attended various training camps around the globe. Their time in Australia and New Zealand, among other countries, has honed them to become the best in the field.
Dr. Justin Giam, Dental Designs Clinics’ clinical director, earned his bachelor’s degree in dental science from the University of Melbourne. Later on, he went back to Singapore and joined an already established dental clinic at Raffles Place.
More notably, Dr. Giam is a registered dental healthcare specialist with both the Singapore Dental Council and the Australian Health Practitioners Dental Board.
Honestly, that’s only the tip of the iceberg! Since Dental Designs Clinic has 11 resident dentists, it will probably take us forever to recount all their achievements in one go, but we still want to commend them for their hard work.
Apart from its outstanding crew, we also love its modern yet cozy treatment rooms. Of course, it’s hard not to notice its state-of-the-art tools and equipment from Switzerland and Germany, which have ultimately become its service highlight.
For instance, Dental Designs Clinic utilizes rotary endodontic instruments for root canals to ensure accuracy and efficiency. It has then shunned away from the use of traditional hand files, which can be time-consuming.
With all these perks, what else can go wrong?
To be fair, we’re a little bit disappointed about its appointment system and delayed schedules. Surely, no patient would like to wait for a long time for a supposedly quick dental appointment.
The clinic’s management also fails to inform prospective clients about the sudden changes in its price list. Frankly speaking, that’s a big turnoff, especially if you’re a little bit conscious about the money you spend on your dental care.

Pros
- Award-winning clinic
- Ensures high-quality dental treatment through its holistic approach
Cons
- Expensive treatment
- Lack of transparency when it comes to cost
Even at first glance, we can’t help but fancy the serene and dreamy location of Garden Dental Clinic.
Conveniently located within the Botanic Gardens MRT station, this dental center provides a soothing and tranquil environment for patients and doctors alike. It also promises to deliver quality dentistry through its team of brilliant doctors.
Garden Dental Clinic is the brainchild of Dr. Robin Baek, a dental surgeon who graduated from the University of Michigan in 2005. In 2010, he moved to Singapore and worked for Q&M Dental Centre for more than six years.
In 2016, Dr. Baek finally decided to set up his own clinic. With his extensive knowledge and experience in dental braces and implants, he was able to make a big splash in the industry, despite being a latecomer.
All his hard work paid off when Garden Dental Clinic was recognized as the best center for root canal treatment in Singapore in 2020. To top it off, Dr. Baek was dubbed as one of the top-performing dentists in Singapore by MediaOne.
However, as expected, you may have to pay a little bit more for your root canal therapy here than in other clinics. If you’re on a tight budget, you may want to steer clear of it and look for more affordable options.
Garden Dental Clinic is also relatively secretive about the cost of its treatment plans. You may need to call them through their mainline to get a proper estimate since you won’t find any information about it on their website.

Pros
- A team of 13 internationally trained dental specialists
- Award-winning clinic
Cons
- High-cost treatment
Another contender for the best clinic for root canal treatment in Singapore is the Specialist Dental Group.
What sets this dental center apart from the others is it specializes in six different areas. These are prosthodontics, orthodontics, periodontics, endodontics, paedodontics, and oral surgery.
As a dental specialist for endodontics, Dr. Irene Sim will take care of your root canal treatment and other tooth-related concerns.
After earning her master’s degree in endodontics from the National University of Singapore in 2011, Dr. Sim participated in a fellowship program in Edinburgh. She received a silver medal for the Singapore Health Quality Service Award.
More recently, she bagged the Oral Health Academic Clinical Programme Young Clinician Publication Award in 2016. She was also nominated for the SingHealth Publish Award in the same year.
While we applaud Specialist Dental Group for its high-tech treatment facilities and friendly staff, we just feel like its root canal therapy is a bit overpriced at $950 to $1,500 per tooth.
On top of that, patients will also have to pay $80 to $200 per consultation and an extra $160 for digital X-ray. These rates also exclude the 7% Goods and Services Tax (GST), which adds more weight to the already cumbersome fees.
4. Casa Dental

Services: Dental checkup and clean, dental crown and bridge, emergency dentistry, root canal treatment, wisdom tooth surgery, gum treatment, cosmetic dentistry
Website: https://www.casadental.com.sg/

Pros
- Provides flexible payment schemes
- An award-winning dental clinic
Cons
- Suddenly cancels appointment
- Can’t accommodate emergency cases
- Root canal treatment can cost around $1,600
Casa Dental is an all-around dental clinic that offers top-notch dentistry services—from teeth whitening to root canal treatments. Thanks to its head dental surgeon, Dr. Chan Kwun Chung, it has steadily gained loyal customers.
Dr. Chan graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2008. He spent years in Australia working in the public sector, which gave him invaluable experience in general dentistry.
When he moved back to Singapore, he co-founded the Casa Dental Group. To further enhance his knowledge and skills, he attended postgraduate classes and became an Invisalign-preferred provider.
To get the most accurate diagnoses and treat various dental problems, Casa Dental uses high-tech equipment like laser, 3D printer, and CT scan X-ray apparatus.
This clinic has also partnered with well-known brands, such as Invisalign, Neo Biotech, Straumann, OSStem Implant, and Dentsply.
While we love how Dr. Chan pays attention to his patients, we just can’t ignore the instances of sudden cancellation of appointments. This can mess up your day’s schedule.
You also can’t rely on Casa Dental to accommodate emergency cases since it prioritizes patients who have originally booked an appointment with its dental specialists. We hope that it will open its doors someday to walk-in patients who need immediate attention.
We also have to warn you about the expensive treatment plans. Based on our research, root canal therapy at Casa Dental may cost at least $1,600 per tooth.
5. Skye Dental

Pros
- Situated in a scenic location
- Can accommodate emergency cases
Cons
- Expensive treatment
Skye Dental was founded by Dr. Andrew Doig and Dr. May Ling Eide, both an alumnus of the University of Glasgow. Before permanently settling in Singapore, they spent their early career in the UK.
When Dr. Doig graduated from the said esteemed institution, he was awarded the Nana Reid Donoghue prize for the best clinical case. Later on, he became a vocational trainer for young dentists after gaining all the relevant experience needed for private practice.
On the other hand, Dr. Eide received her bachelor’s degree in dental surgery from the same university in 2006. During her undergraduate years, she received various awards, including the Maud Donoghue Gillis Prize for Child Dental Health or Orthodontics.
She then attended a three-year orthodontic specialty training program at the University College London Eastman Dental Institute. Now, she’s a member of various orthodontic associations both in Singapore and the United Kingdom.
The best thing about Skye Dental is it accepts emergency cases. Its staff will try to help alleviate your pain by doing the best they can to accommodate your needs.
Nonetheless, we’re still a little conflicted about its pricing. While it’s not the most expensive clinic in Singapore, that doesn’t mean it’s cheap.
