The 5 Best Barbershops in Singapore for a Sharp Look

  • Skill and experience - We checked if the barbers are well-trained in both modern and classic styles.
  • Cleanliness and hygiene - Tools, chairs, and the space must be clean and well-maintained.
  • Service and ambience - A welcoming vibe, attentive service, and comfort matter, especially for longer grooming sessions.
  • Pricing and transparency - Clear rates for cuts, shaves, and extras can help customers avoid surprise charges.

I’ve been on a mission to find the crispest fade and cleanest cut in town, which is no small feat in a city full of barbers. But these barbershops in Singapore that I’ve stumbled upon have been game-changers.

They go beyond cutting hair and crafting confidence for hopeless hair like mine. These are my must-try barbershops that know how to handle everything from old-school razors to sleek, modern grooming chairs.

I go to Empire Barbershop whenever I want a cut that’s sharp and consistent. The barbers here know their craft, with clean fades and lines that are precise.

The shop is always spotless every time I drop by. The barbers keep the tools sterilised, and the whole setup looks and feels well-kept and professional.

I like that the service is chill but attentive, and never once did I feel like they wanted to rush me out the door (which happened to me in another shop). There’s a classic gentleman’s lounge vibe at Empire that makes you relax.

The prices are fair to the quality, too (S$70 for a standard cut), with no hidden add-ons, so I know what I’m paying for. Booking is pretty easy, and I get accommodated right away according to my schedule.

The only downside is that Empire Barbershop can get fully booked fast, especially on weekends. Walk-ins aren’t recommended unless you don’t mind waiting.

Pros

  • Skilled barbers
  • Transparent pricing
  • Classic lounge ambience

Cons

  • Cash or PayNow payment only
  • High demand, limited availability

Clean shop and very good service

Got my haircut at Empire Barbershop and it turned out great! The barber (Jhayr) was friendly and did exactly what I asked for. Clean shop and very good service. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you!

I was very pleased with the cut

A great barbershop located in OUE Downtown Gallery. There is a comfortable leather sofa to sit on while you wait, as well as interesting coffee table books to read. The appointment was punctual and professional – I was very pleased with the cut, and the price was as one would expect in the centre of Singapore. Would highly recommend and will for sure be back.

My best bud introduced me to Rogue and Beyond when I complimented him on his stylish and tailored ‘do.

I like that its barbers are skilled in both classic looks and modern textures, and always ask me what suits my face instead of forcing a trendy cut.

The space feels like walking into a boutique grooming lab, all minimalist and spotless. I noticed how they wiped down tools after every client, with things feeling, looking, and smelling clean and sterile.

There’s no small talk unless you’re up for it, either, which I prefer as an introvert. There’s a chill but focused atmosphere as if the barbers are crafting more than a haircut.

The pricing is premium at around S$85 for a cut, which they’re upfront about (as well as cash as preferred payment). I knew I was paying for precision, and not just a seat in the shop.

The only downside I see is availability, as Rogue and Beyond usually get booked solid, especially for its more popular stylists. Also, there are no beard trims or full grooming packages here, just haircuts.

    Pros

    • Top-tier barber expertise
    • Spotless boutique ambience
    • Personalised consultations
    • Clear pricing

    Cons

    • Premium service, premium cost
    • Credit card payment has 4% surcharge

      A very refreshing experience

I had an amazing haircut and experience at Rogue and Beyond. I had a rough idea in mind of the cut I wanted, and Alif understood exactly. He took the time to ask questions and make sure we were both on the same page. What I particularly appreciated was his attention to detail: at various points, he would step back, consider, and make additional edits. That was a very refreshing experience when you are used to barbers rushing you through the process. I am super happy with the cut Alif gave me and would definitely return next time I’m in Singapore!

Easily the best cut I’ve had here in Singapore

Just saw JR today from Rogue and Beyond, and I have to say — what a difference. He was incredibly detailed, patient, and focused throughout the whole cut. Easily the best cut I’ve had here in Singapore, I’ll definitely be going back to him from now on — highly recommend JR to anyone looking for a proper haircut done right.

My older brother swears by The Good Guys for his spiffy haircuts that always seem spot-on and tailored to his style and head shape. He says the barbers there, especially Ivan and Alex, really know their craft and listen to him before they even raise their scissors.

I had to give it a try, and was pleasantly surprised by the minimalist and clean look and feel. There were no sticky, icky, prickly sensations when I plonked down in the barber chair, which I was unlucky enough to get in our old neighbourhood barber before.

There’s a professional yet relaxed vibe with some small talk involved, which I didn’t mind because it was friendly and brief enough. And the background music was soothing, not intrusive.

The best thing about The Good Guys for me is its upfront pricing: S$48 for a standard cut, and S$68 for the finesse package that includes wash, massage, and style. What you see is what you get, and it’s worth it.

Do note that there are no hot-towel shaves or scalp treatments like other premium shops here.

      Pros

      • Globally-trained barbers
      • Affordable packages
      • Chill and friendly shop vibe

      Cons

      • No additional premium services
      • Limited slots fill up quickly

        The final cut was AWESOME

First time trying Good Guys and made an appointment with Alex after seeing his many rave reviews. The place had a great vibe, and Alex was very welcoming. He listened to my concerns and desires for my hair before patiently explaining what would work best for me. He was observant to see how my hair was and kept it real with me without overpromising. An absolute professional and he really knows his stuff! The final cut was AWESOME, and he even guided me through how to maintain and style my hair post-cut. Highly recommended!

A very professional, perfect and passionate hairdresser

I went there without booking as it was an emergency at the time of closing. And requested “Ivan” for a haircut. He listened and agreed to it. He is a very professional, perfect and passionate hairdresser. Very much satisfied with my haircut. His approach is very friendly, which makes you comfortable and builds the trust that you need.

The Panic Room was surprisingly introduced to me by no other than my dad! He likes how the barbers there, especially Alvin and Taqwa, don’t just trim but help him find a style that suits his age and thinning hair.

What won him over was the shop’s cool, retro setup. He said it reminds him of old-school barbershops, just with better music and cleaner tools. The place is well-organised and lined with grooming products he now pretends he always knew about!

Dad also enjoys the service that is relaxed, sans hard sell—just good cuts and better banter he’s up for. Booking is fuss-free, thanks to its app, and he always leaves looking fresher than when he walked in.

It’s got clear, no-nonsense pricing starting at S$40. It’s a straight-up, reliable experience he likes going back for.

However, he does wish that The Panic Room did old-fashioned hot towel shaves to complete the nostalgic feel. And if he doesn’t book early, especially for weekends, his favourite barber is almost always fully booked.

        Pros

        • Retro barber vibe with modern cuts
        • Skilled, personable barbers
        • Affordable, upfront pricing

        Cons

        • Limited service scope
        • Low walk-in chances

The cut and style were excellent

Had an extraordinary hair and scalp treatment with Alvin. He was very attentive and really took an interest in my hair and scalp health, sharing his knowledge in helping me keep looking young, healthy and vibrant. The cut and style were excellent, and the scalp treatment was truly divine – highly recommend making this a must-stop while in Singapore.

          Super happy with my cut

1st time getting my haircut at Panic Room. Super awesome space. Bookings have to be made in advance through their website. Not pushing about getting their products, unlike certain/most barbershops. The price is reasonable. Not cheap but certainly not exorbitant. My Barber was Jon. He is super awesome and friendly. Give me tips on haircare and styling. Super happy with my cut, he gave me what I wanted, and I came in without knowing what I wanted. Look for him to get your hair done. He has been there for 8 years, so he definitely knows what he is doing. Highly recommended, and this will probably be my go-to barbershop from now on. And did I mention Jon was awesome?

My first visit to Hiroginza (a gift from my mom for my most recent birthday) felt like entering a refined Japanese grooming sanctuary. The barbers from Japan are experts, blending traditional techniques with modern tools to tailor styles for my face and lifestyle.

The private rooms are immaculate and serene, each feeling like a personal retreat with pristine tools and calm interiors. Every comb, razor, and chair sparkled like new, too; hygiene is a top priority here.

I went through a full experience of shampoo, facial exfoliation, mist shave, shoulder massage, and blow-dry, all delivered with quiet efficiency. The peaceful feeling throughout it all made me grateful to be away from the city hustle for a couple of hours.

Of course, it has premium but transparent pricing: first-time offers for premium cuts are at S$155. They do list all add-ons, so there are no surprise charges in the end.

It’s not for budget grooming, plus limited private-room capacity means slots fill up fast, especially on evenings and during weekends.

          Pros

          • Skilled Japanese barbers
          • Private grooming suites
          • Full-service grooming experience

          Cons

          • Steeper rates
          • Limited private room availability

The style lasted weeks without much effort

Took the 1st time premium promo and was not disappointed. The haircut by Arima-san was spot on what I wanted. The style lasted weeks without much effort. Went there with a hope, came out very happy. Definitely will be back again.

I felt very pampered and relaxed during the haircut

Excellent and engaging service. I felt very pampered and relaxed during the haircut and facial. Eri was very friendly and experienced. Highly recommended!
