11 Best Coffee Shops in Orchard I Added to My Cafe-Hopping Itinerary

One of my favourite daily rituals is treating myself to a good cup of coffee. Sure, I could easily brew one at home, but there’s something special about stepping into a cosy café, inhaling that rich aroma, and savouring a perfectly crafted cup.

As a self-confessed coffee addict, I don’t just visit cafés for the aesthetics. I’m there for the specialty brews and unique blends that would take me hours to replicate at home.

Lucky for me, Orchard Road is brimming with great coffee spots, and I make it a mission to try new ones whenever I can. After plenty of caffeine-fuelled adventures, here are my top picks for the best coffee in the area!

Cafe de Paris

Address: 313 Orchard Rd, #B1-37, Floor B1, 313@somerset
Contact Details: +65 8718 0889
Operating Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday, 11:00 am to 10:00 pm
  • Friday to Saturday, 11:00 am to 10:30 pm
  • Sunday, 11:00 am to 10:00 pm

Singapore may be miles from Europe, but every time I step into Café de Paris, it feels like a mini escape—no passport required. This charming spot serves up coffee that’s just as good as it looks (and yes, I’ve taken my fair share of coffee photos here).

Their speciality? Colourful flavoured lattes and all-day high tea that make any day feel a little fancier.

And if you’ve got a sweet tooth like me, you’re in for a treat. Think crepe cakes, croissants, and parfaits that taste like they belong in a Parisian café.

Tips:

  • The cafe offers workshops on latte art and art jamming sessions for couples and large groups. You’ve got three hours to let your creativity flow on a blank canvas.

And if you’re feeling stuck, don’t worry! There’s an e-guide and plenty of reference images to spark some inspiration.

  • I highly recommend trying out the High Tea sessions here and swapping out the tea for coffee instead. High tea sets are limited, so reservations are only confirmed with a deposit.

To secure your spot, we recommend booking at least a week in advance. You can still try your luck with at least a day’s notice—if there are seats left!

Equate Coffee

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday, 9:00 am to 9:30 pm

If you’re cafe-hopping in Orchard, make a stop at Equate Coffee’s newest outlet in Orchard Central. Their Solid Gold house blend, a smooth mix of Brazilian and Sumatran beans roasted in Malaysia, is perfect for your daily caffeine fix.

For non-coffee drinkers, they’ve got single-origin filter coffee, iced chocolate, and tea. And if you love pastries (because who doesn’t?), don’t leave without trying their famous Mount Ondeh or canelés (they’re so worth the extra calories!).

Tips:

  • Love your daily brew? A coffee subscription brings fresh, top-quality beans (or grounds) straight to your doorstep every month. Customise it to your taste. Choose your coffee type, grind, and delivery frequency.

Signing up is easy: just head to the subscription page, pick your options, check out, and let the coffee come to you!

  • Note that the cafe is a completely cashless establishment. Don’t forget to top up your digital wallets and cards because they won’t accept any change (nor tips, as tipping isn’t the norm here).

Lucine by LUNA

Media from lucine.singapore

Address: 111 Somerset Rd, #01-06 TripleOne Somerset
Contact Details: +65 8522 3945
Operating Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday, 9:30 am to 6:30 pm
  • Friday to Saturday, 9:30 am to 9:00 pm
  • Sunday, 9:30 am to 6:30 pm

Pricing: $$$

Lucine by LUNA isn’t just about cakes; it’s a hidden gem for coffee lovers too! This spot takes your daily brew up a notch with unique latte flavours you won’t find at your typical kopitiam like black sesame and tiramisu (my personal favourites).

Pair your drink with one of their signature pastries, or just sit back and enjoy the cosy vibes.

Tips:

  • Dropping by late in the day? Don’t forget to order your food as soon as you arrive. Last call for food orders is at 4:00 pm, so if you don’t make it, you’re stuck with coffee (although, who’s complaining?).
  • Don’t be afraid to ask for refills! If you ordered tea by the pot, you can ask for water refills to make the most out of the tea bag you buy.
  • Before you pack your work bag and head here, let me warn you that there is no Wi-Fi available in this cafe.

Alchemist The Hereen

Address: 260 Orchard Rd, Floor 1, Design Orchard,  #01-02 ORA, The Heeren
Contact Details: [email protected]
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday, 9:00 am to 9:00 pm
Pricing: $$$

Alchemist at The Heeren had me at first sip. Tucked right into the heart of Orchard Road, this “store in the park” concept feels like a secret oasis—open-air, laid-back, and serving up some seriously good coffee amid the city’s hustle.

They’ve got all the classics—Americanos, lattes, mochas, and pour-overs—but the real star is their seasonal Dark Matter Blend. When it makes an appearance, coffee lovers know it’s time to drop by, and trust me, it’s worth the hype.

Tips:

  • Since the cafe is located right in front of the busiest junction of Orchard, there is no indoor seating available. There are al fresco seats near the entrance, but note that most people drop by for coffee to go.

Expect lots of customers by noon (lunch break) or in the early morning (early rush hour). To avoid the crowds, drop by between 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

  • Feel free to bring your own tumbler or reusable cup when you order a drink. The cafe only uses disposable cups, cutlery, and plates, so if you’re an environmentally-conscious person, bring your own cup!

  • Monday to Thursday, 10:00 am to 8:00 pm

  • Sunday, 10:00 am to 8:00 pm

% Arabica may have started in Tokyo, but its brews have won over coffee lovers worldwide—including right here in Singapore. So when they finally landed in the city back in 2019, I wasted no time getting my hands on a cup and braved the queues.

Their first stop was Arab Street, but luckily, there’s also an outlet in Orchard—perfect for a quick caffeine fix on my way to work. I love their coffee because it’s bold, aromatic, and beautifully simple—the kind of no-nonsense quality every coffee addict craves.

Tips:

  • The best time to drop by this cafe is in the mid-afternoon or right before lunch hour. Queues are generally long throughout the day due to their popularity, but if you drop by around 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm, the queues are bearable.

As much as possible, avoid dropping by on the weekends because I found that the crowds are even bigger then!

  • Looking for a cosy café to chill or get work done? % Arabica might not be your best bet. Seats fill up fast, and the noise level can be a bit much. There isn’t a lot of seating either, to begin with. But if you’re after a solid coffee to go, it’s well worth the stop!

Bacha Coffee

Media from bachacoffee

Address: 2 Orchard Turn #01-15/16 ION Orchard Mall
Contact Details: +65 6363 1910
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday, 9:30 am to 10:00 pm
Pricing: $$$
Website

If you’re craving some luxe coffee, skip the ordinary and head straight to Bacha Coffee. This Marrakech-born coffee parlour, established in 1910, takes Arabica brews to a whole new level of sophistication.

Forget flimsy paper cups. Here, your coffee arrives on a gleaming silver tray, served in ornate cups that scream elegance. The baristas don’t just pour; they perform, using intricate metal filters to craft your perfect cup right at your table.

And if you’re curious, they’ll even indulge you with tales of the beans behind your brew.

Tips:

  • For the complete experience, book an Afternoon Coffee session starting at $47 per person. You get to choose your brew for the day from the coffee parlour’s collection and enjoy a selection of pastries, sandwiches, cheese, and sweet treats to pair with your brew. You even have the option to get iced coffee if you prefer that!
  • Why not give a friend a bag of Bacha beans? The cafe has an online store where you can shop for their best-selling products and even gift wrap them for a friend you’re sending them to.

Just note that they can only gift wrap the Coffee Bag Gift Boxes, but all other orders will be wrapped in their basic packaging (which is already pretty).

PS.Cafe Palais Renaissance

Address: 390 Orchard Rd, #02 – 09A, Floor 2, Palais Renaissance
Contact Details: +65 6708 9288
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday, 11:00 am to 10:00 pm
Pricing: $$$

When I’m in Orchard with time to kill and a little extra cash to burn, PS.Cafe Renaissance is my go-to for a coffee break that feels more like an experience. This isn’t your typical snug café. It’s an architectural showpiece that elevates your caffeine fix!

I wouldn’t swing by just for a quick coffee. This spot deserves a full morning or afternoon of indulgence.

Think leisurely brunches, decadent desserts, and, of course, a signature latte in hand. Because if you’re going to sip, you might as well do it in style.

Tips:

  • Take your beloved or crush on a date here if you want to impress them with good coffee and food. Just note that if you’re coming in on a peak day like Valentine’s Day, the cafe has a minimum spend requirement of about $60 per person. It’s a lot, but trust me, it’ll be a coffee date both of you will not regret spending on!
  • Take note that they only offer their brunch menu every weekend from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Tables get fully booked quickly on these days, so make sure to make a reservation at least a day or two in advance.

Cafe Ma Maison

Media from mamaison.singapore

Address: 333A Orchard Rd, #02-33 / 34, Mandarin Gallery
Contact Details: +65 6235 6411
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday, 11:00 am to 9:30 pm
Pricing: $$

If you need a caffeine fix but want to try something new, skip the usual suspects and head to Cafe Ma Maison at Mandarin Gallery for something a little more exciting.

I stumbled upon their Warabimochi-Mochi Hojicha Latte on a whim, and let me tell you, it’s like discovering a hidden gem in the middle of the city. The hojicha flavour is smooth and nutty, and the creamy texture is like a warm hug in a cup.

If you’re craving something with a bit more personality than your regular flat white, this is the coffee that’ll make you stop and savour the moment.

Tips:

  • While you’ll find charger plugs and USB 2.0 ports here, this isn’t really the place for intense studying or deep work sessions. It’s better suited for those chill conversations or leisurely hangouts with friends because of the space and the convivial atmosphere.
  • If you plan to come by here regularly, I highly recommend that you sign up for a membership. It’s free of charge and awards you cash or lunch vouchers for every 10 stamps you accumulate per visit. Plus, you’ll also get a postcard on your birthday each year!

Halcyon & Crane

Operating Hours:

  • Monday and Thursday, 8:30 am to 8:30 pm

  • Sunday, 8:30 am to 8:30 pm

Halcyon & Crane may be a fresh face in Singapore’s coffee scene, but it’s already winning over coffee addicts with its bold brews.

Their signature blends are unique, mixing ice coffee cubes with orange or yuzu lemon juice—an unexpected twist that somehow just works.

I was completely sold! The refreshing zing was a wake-up call in the best way possible. Of course, if you prefer to keep things classic, they’ve got you covered with lattes, mochas, and americanos. But for the adventurous, this place is a must-try!

Tips:

  • The cafe has been earning much-deserved hype since it opened, so expect a large crowd here throughout the day. You can, however, reserve a table if you plan on ordering a bunch of food aside from coffee here.

Just note that they only accept reservations from Monday to Thursday. Weekends are completely walk-in, so if you want to get a good table from Friday to Sunday, head there before 9:00 am to 5:00 pm!

  • They also offer booze once the sun sets. I recommend trying out their coffee for breakfast (as soon as they open) and then coming back in the evening for a round of drinks.

The Community Coffee

Address: 14 Scotts Road #02-94 Far East Plaza
Contact Details: [email protected]
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday, 9:30 am to 6:30 pm
Pricing: $$$

The Community Coffee is unlike other cafes you’ll find in the swanky district of Orchard. Instead of the trendy interiors and specialty coffees, this cafe boasts simple kopitiam vibes and friendly baristas that are very passionate about coffee.

They do it all—sourcing, roasting, and brewing top-notch beans from Colombia, Ethiopia, Kenya, and beyond. With a lineup this good, choosing can be tough, but don’t worry, the friendly baristas are always ready to help you find your perfect cup.

Tips:

  • If you want to learn how to brew a fresh cup of coffee and discover the different notes and beans from all over the world, you can actually sign up for a coffee-making masterclass at the cafe’s academy.

They teach the foundations of coffee making and also have classes for intermediate or advanced baristas who want to put up their own cafe in the future. If you’re interested, learn more about the classes here

  • Need a top-notch coffee experience for your event? The Community Coffee brings the brew to you, whether it’s a pop-up café or a hands-on corporate workshop. Drop them a line at [email protected] to get things brewing.

Hidden on the fourth floor of Orchard Central, FYP (For You People) Cafe isn’t just about glamping vibes; it’s also a solid coffee spot. From smooth lattes to bold, aromatic brews, their coffee lineup pairs perfectly with indulgent treats from Whiskdom.

A few of their bestsellers that I honestly think deserve much more attention are their refreshing iced black coffee and lattes. I took my friends here one time, and they found the lattes smooth and velvety with the right amount of sweetness!

Tips:

  • The seats here are comfy for a coffee catch-up but a bit tricky for a full meal. Best to drop by for a relaxing cuppa—perfect for chilling but not so much for feasting. You can, however, order your food to go if you prefer to enjoy it elsewhere or at home.
  • Swing by right after they open at noon for the best chance at snagging a table before the crowd rolls in. Just a heads-up: the seating is mostly camping chairs, so if that’s not your thing, consider grabbing your coffee to go!
