The 12 Best Foods in Bedok You’ll Sink Your Teeth Into!

I came to Bedok with just S$20 in my wallet and left with a full belly, zero regrets, and the desire to return soon. This hood is about serious makan, from old-school hawkers to chill cafes.

If you’re the type to queue 30 minutes for the real deal char kway teow, you’re in the right place. The food scene here is big on flavour, low on frills, and always shiok, as this guide on the best Bedok food will reveal.

Bedok Chwee Kueh

Hours: Daily, 7 AM–7.30 PM
Price: $

I never thought I’d crave chwee kueh as early as 8 AM, but this Bedok hawker stall proved me wrong. The soft, steamed rice cakes here are silky soft, with salty-sweet chai poh (preserved radish) providing a tasty savoury layer.

It’s simple but super shiok, especially when the chai poh is fragrant and the rice cake is smooth and slightly bouncy.

Pro-tip: You can ask for extra chai poh if you want an added umami kick.

Fatt Soon Kueh

Hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 8.30 AM–6.30 PM
Price: $

I bit into the soon kueh (steamed dumpling with shredded turnip) at this stall and immediately tasted the crunch of fresh bamboo shoots and turnip. The skin was thin and chewy, too—just the way I like it.

Fatt Soon Kueh is one of those stalls where the auntie’s been wrapping dumplings since forever. It’s humble, handmade, and worth all the calories.

Pro-tip: A traditional kopi-O pairs well with the dumplings for brekky. The mild bitterness balances the savoury sweetness perfectly.

Hock Hai Curry Chicken Noodle

Hours: Wednesday to Sunday, 9 AM–9 PM
Price: $

I slurped the curry broth here and instantly felt my tongue and palate hugged by warm spices. The chicken was tender, the tau pok soaked up the gravy like a sponge, so it was a solid lunch choice overall.

Hock Hai always has a queue for its curry chicken noodles, but it moves quickly because people know what they want. If you like your noodles thick and your curry thicker, this is your spot.

Pro-tip: Swing by before 11 AM or after 2 PM to avoid the lunch crowd.

58 Minced Meat Noodle

Address: Blk 704, Bedok Reservoir Road
Contact: +6562255632
Hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 6 AM to 8.30 PM
Price: $

The bak chor mee sauce at this stall clings to every noodle strand like it’s meant to. The liver is fresh, the meatballs bounce, and the chilli adds fire to everything.

58 Minced Meat Noodle hits the sweet spot between comfort food and legit hawker mastery. It’s messy, meaty, and worth wolfing down.

Pro-tip: Order the mee pok if you like your noodles flat and springy.

Bedok Corner Hokkien Mee

I came for the Hokkien mee here but stayed for the wok hei and those fat tiger prawns. The seafood broth is rich, giving every bite that smokey, slurpy goodness.

This small stall at Bedok Corner Food Centre doesn’t play around. The squid is fresh, the noodles are on point, and the fiery sambal brings it all together for a satisfying supper.

Pro-tip: Don’t skip the sambal because it cuts through the richness like a slightly sweet, hot punch.

Yang’s Epok-Epok

Hours:

  • Monday, 9 AM–midnight

  • Wednesday, midnight–7 AM, 11 AM–10 PM
  • Thursday to Sunday, 11 AM–10 PM

Yang’s at Bedok Corner has become my go-to when the epok-epok (Malay deep-fried curry puff) craving hits late. One bite of the sardine version and the crumbs go flying, but my shirt and I have zero regrets!

The crust is flaky, the filling is spicy-savoury, and it hits different when fresh off the fryer. Whether you’re team sardine or team potato, these puffs are golden perfection with every bite.

Pro-tip: The epok epok usually sells out by 6 PM, so go there as early as you can.

Bedok Interchange Hawker Centre

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve makan-ed at Bedok Interchange Hawker Centre. It’s my go-to when I want variety without spending all my food budget.

Every stall has its own fanbase (and queue), from chwee kueh to curry noodles. I like Inspirasi at stall 11 for the mee rebus!

Overall, it’s noisy, crowded, affordable, and absolutely glorious for foodies.

Pro-tip: Don’t be shy to chope a seat before ordering!

Hours: Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, 8 AM–10 PM

Bedok Corner may be smaller, but the food here packs a serious punch. Me? I came for the satay, stayed for the Hokkien mee at stall 29 (Hokkien Fried Squid Prawn Mee), and left with epok-epok (Yang’s, stall 04) in hand.

Every stall feels like it’s someone’s secret favourite, and you can makan under the stars without breaking the bank. It’s got that chill, old-school vibe where the food speaks louder than the decor.

Pro-tip: Go after 6 PM so all the stalls are available for a full dinner spread.

Percolate Café

Hours: Daily, 9 AM–7 PM

When I want good coffee minus that CBD attitude (you all know what I’m talking about!), I go to Percolate. Its flat white is smooth, and the pastries are flaky enough to ruin my keyboard.

Tucked into a quiet corner on Bedok North, it’s the kind of cafe where time slows down and your brunch plans turn into afternoon plans. Plus, there’s no need to fight for parking like in town.

Pro-tip: Don’t skip the kouign-amann here. It’s caramelly, buttery, and pairs well with the house espresso.

Refuel Café

Website
Address: 744 Bedok Reservoir Rd, #01-3029 Reservoir Village
Contact: +6564480015
Hours: Daily, 9 AM–9 PM
Price: $$

I rolled into Refuel Cafe expecting basic brunch, but its honey BBQ ribs changed the game. It was tender, flavourful, and falling off the bone.

Tucked near Bedok Reservoir, this cosy spot serves up generous portions without the downtown price tag. It gets busy on weekends, so consider visiting on weekdays for a more relaxed experience.

Pro-tip: For a chill beverage, order the Fuel Iced Tea, a refreshing blend of citrus and mint.

99 Dessert in Cup

Hours: Daily, 10 AM–10 PM

I stumbled upon 99 Dessert in Cup Interchange Hawker Centre and decided to try its chendol. The homemade jelly was soft and fragrant, and the generous drizzle of thick gula melaka syrup added a rich sweetness that tied everything together.

It’s served in a tall plastic cup and helps beat the Singapore heat.

Pro-tip: This affordable indulgence costs just S$2.50 per cup!

Simpang Bedok

Hours: Open 24 hours
Price: $

I’ve wrapped up many late nights at Simpang Bedok with a crispy prata in one hand and a frothy teh tarik in the other. The stretch is a supper paradise of roti prata, nasi goreng, satay, noodles (check out the legendary Wanton Noodle House!), and more, all served until the wee hours.

There’s always a table and a hot plate waiting for the different types of cafes here. It’s where Easties go when the cravings hit after midnight.

Pro-tip: Weekends after 10 PM are peak hours. Expect a livelier crowd, but a longer wait.
