What to Expect

Sembawang Hot Springs Park is a one-of-a-kind gem in Singapore, home to the country’s only natural hot spring pools. Discovered in the early 1900s, this spring once supplied drinking water and even served as a bathhouse during World War II.
Now transformed into public wading pools, the water ranges from a steamy 50 to 70°C—hot enough to make you appreciate the rare “cool” days at 40°C! It’s the perfect spot for a soothing foot soak with spa vibes, thanks to the water’s famed healing properties.
Make it a family outing! Kids will love exploring the educational plaques that dive into geothermal energy, adding a fun learning twist to the experience.
Tips:
- Temperatures can reach as high as 100 to 150 degrees Celsius, which is boiling hot! That’s why there’s an area called the “Egg Cooking Section.” A popular activity among locals is to bring raw eggs and boil them using spring water! Bring as many as you want!
- If you want to take a break from the heat and pools, you can walk towards Sembawang Beach which is right next to the hot spring park. People often drop by here for a picnic with their boiled eggs!
Where to Eat

Since the hot spring park is located near a beach, it’s a no-brainer to find a seafood restaurant nearby. The Sembawang Eating House Seafood Restaurant specialises in delicious seafood meals made for families to enjoy the freshest catches of the day.
A few of their popular dishes include stingray, abalone, prawns, groupers, lobster, and so much more. Expect to eat a feast here though because their servings are huge!
Tip:
- The best time to visit is at lunchtime. I highly recommend dropping by for a late lunch here after a morning dip at the pools. If you prefer to have dinner, make sure to finish your pool session right before 4:00 pm (because past that, it’ll be difficult to find a free table).
