Maximise fun and minimise hassle with these visitors’ tips to Wild Wild Wet Singapore!

The heat in the Lion City can be intense, and Wild Wild Wet is the perfect remedy for cooling off and having a blast!

This expansive water park boasts thrilling slides, refreshing pools, and endless fun under the sun. Whether you’re looking to dive into adventure or just relax by the water, there’s something for everyone here.

If it’s your first time planning a visit, I’ve put together a list of essential tips to ensure you make the most of your day at the park!

Tip 1: Always wear sunscreen

Since you’ll be wading, swimming, and splashing all day under the sun, I recommend wearing and reapplying sunscreen throughout the day. Make sure to get sunscreen that doesn’t wear out easily while in the water and with an SPF of at least 50.

Also, reapply sunscreen as much as possible if you’re going to be under the sun for long periods of time.

Tip 2: Wear footwear or slippers with a good grip

Wild Wild Wet is, quite literally, wet all the time. That said, wear footwear or slippers with good grip wherever you’re out of the pools or slides.

This way, you prevent yourself or your kids from slipping when the floors are wet (because they usually are all the time). This is especially crucial when climbing up the stairs to tall slides inside the waterpark.

Tip 3: Pick an off-peak day or weekday for your visit

Weekends are popular times for families to visit water parks, as it’s often when adults have free time for leisure. However, entry prices at attractions like Wild Wild Wet are typically higher on weekends.

For a more budget-friendly experience, consider visiting on weekdays, which are generally less crowded and offer discounted rates—up to 10% off (excluding Fridays). You’ll not only save money but also enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere.

Tip 4: Book your tickets in advance

For a smoother experience at Wild Wild Wet, it’s wise to purchase your tickets in advance. This way, you can skip the long lines and avoid the frustration of sold-out days.

Pre-booking not only guarantees your entry but may also give you access to discounted rates. You can purchase tickets one month in advance, but if you need to change the date of your visit, you’ll be charged an extra $5.

Tip 5: Rent a locker to keep your belongings safe and dry

One tip I always share with friends and family is to rent a locker at the water park. It’s a game-changer! Lockers keep your belongings safe and dry while you enjoy the park, and they’re the best option for securing valuables.

Lockers start at $12 for the entire day, with enough space to store everything you need, including gadgets and valuables, which most rides won’t allow you to bring along anyway.

Tip 6: Get to the entrance early

Getting to the park early has always been my go-to strategy. It really does make all the difference! By beating the crowds, you can skip the long queues that form later in the day.

I always come prepared with a park map and a list of must-try rides, so I know exactly where to head first.

Also, I recommend hitting the popular rides early to save the less crowded ones for later. This way, you’ll spend more time having fun and less time waiting in line. It’s the perfect way to make the most out of your day!

Tip 7: Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated

It may seem ironic to think about drinking water at a water park, but staying hydrated is crucial. With Singapore’s tropical heat, I’ve discovered the hard way how quickly dehydration can creep up—especially when you’re busy having fun.

I never visit without a refillable water bottle, and I make sure to take frequent sips and remind my family to do the same. Staying hydrated not only keeps your energy up but also makes sure you’re feeling your best to fully enjoy every ride and splash of the day!

Tip 8: Empty your bladder before getting into the pool or going on rides

I always make it a point to use the bathroom before getting in line for any rides, even if I don’t feel like I need to go yet!

Trust me, the last thing you want is to be stuck in a long queue when nature calls. Plus, I’ve been that friend who holds up everyone’s fun—it’s not a great feeling!

Tip 9: Wear comfortable yet fitted swimsuits that won’t fall off

Aside from being the friend who holds everyone up, the last thing you want is your swimsuit slipping off mid-ride. It’s crucial to wear swimwear that fits snugly and stays in place.

Avoid suits with thin linings or loose waistbands. They’ll just keep you adjusting all day. And trust me, opt for brands that specialise in swimwear, not just the ones made for cute photos.

Unless, of course, you’re okay with your suit turning into an accidental peep show!

Tip 10: Stay in the know about the rules and safety regulations of the park

One of the most valuable tips I can give, especially to fellow parents, is to stay updated on the park’s safety regulations and rules.

While many of Wild Wild Wet’s rules might seem obvious, I’ve been surprised by how detailed some restrictions are for the more thrilling rides.

For example, some big rides like the Free Fall have a strict maximum and minimum weight requirement of 136 kg!

Tip 11: Bring your own life vest if necessary

When it comes to life vests at the water park, there’s no universal fit, especially for kids. Fortunately, the park allows guests to bring their own life vests, but be aware that they won’t be responsible for any lost or misplaced personal vests.

Tip 12: Chow down some food and drinks outside the park

One of the best things about the water park is that they allow one re-entry per ticket each day, which is fantastic. With only one main restaurant inside, you might want to explore other dining options if you’re craving something different.

I’ve found that just outside the park, there are plenty of fast-food chains, restaurants, and snack bars to choose from.

Personally, I like to use my re-entry pass before dinner to avoid the crowds and enjoy a quieter experience. It’s a great way to recharge and make the most of your day at the park!

Tip 13: Bring a waterproof bag or phone case

When you’re diving into the fun of big slides or swimming, capturing those epic moments is a must. I always bring a small waterproof bag or phone case to keep my phone and camera safe and dry, even while I’m in the water.

It’s such a game-changer when you want to snap pics of the thrilling slides or just keep track of the fun you’re having.

If you have a waterproof camera like a GoPro, that’s awesome, but a trusty waterproof case for your phone will do the trick perfectly. Trust me, you’ll love having those memories to look back on!
