National Gallery of Singapore

Gajah Gallery has been propelling Southeast Asian artists into the international spotlight since 1996, and if you’re looking for a good introduction to contemporary art, this is the place to look out for!
The gallery has two other international branches in Indonesia (Jakarta and Yogyakarta). All these galleries are dedicated to connecting emerging young artists to a larger crowd with the help of its experimental art house, Yogya Art Lab.

Another contemporary art gallery you should keep on your radar is the FOST Gallery near Gillman Barracks, a known arts complex in Singapore that houses art galleries. The gallery’s founder, Stephanie Fong, put up FOST Gallery back in 2006.

The Columns Gallery

The Columns Gallery’s humble beginnings started in New York, then South Korea, and finally, Singapore. The gallery has been a purveyor of Asian contemporary art for over 26 years, with a primary focus on both emerging and acclaimed South Korean artists.
The Gillman Barracks branch of the gallery is a local favourite and primarily showcases exhibitions on Southeast Asian contemporary art, complementing its longstanding portfolio of South Korean artists.
