Pros
- Wide range of Chinese vegetarian food
- Tasty plant-based “meat and fish”
- Reasonable buffet package rates
Cons
- Takes a minimum of two days to respond
- Some dishes are too oily
Nature Vegetarian Delights easily became one of our favorite catering services with its extensive selection of Chinese vegetarian food.
We love that it’s so simple to book a catering service with them. We needed only to choose our preferred dishes from a convenient list and send back the form.
We did wait a couple of days for the company’s response, but overall the transaction was seamless.
If you want to book a catering service, we highly recommend choosing the Hong Kong fried noodles, sweet n’ sour plant-based pork, and beancurd plant-based prawn roll.
The plant-based meat and fish are particularly flavorful. We didn’t feel cheated when we tasted them!
There are certain dishes that were too oily for our liking, though, such as the olive vege fried rice and black pepper plant-based pork chop.
If you don’t like oiliness, learn from our mistake and request the service to reduce its oil use.
Note that Nature Vegetarian Delights require a minimum order of 30 persons for its catering services, so you can’t book them if your group is too small.
Fortunately, you can go for the mini buffet (minimum of 10 pax) or simply visit their restaurant if you still want to try their dishes.

Pros
- On-time delivery
- Good selection of vegetarian dishes
- Early morning buffet available
- Halal-certified
Cons
- Can be a bit pricey
- Possible response issues
Kate’s Catering caught our attention, as it allowed us to mix up our orders of non-vegetarian and vegetarian dishes.
We ordered the usual Asian fare buffet to accommodate most of our team. We then took advantage of the side orders the service offers, securing plant-based bento sets for our vegetarian teammates.
Though, we must say that doing this made quite a dent in our wallets. Aside from the $20.80 per pax rate, we needed to pay for delivery surcharges.
We also received a couple of dishes that were different from what we ordered due to seasonal reasons.
Our respite from the few cons was that Kate’s Catering delivered the dishes on time and the staff dressed up the buffet tables nicely. Also, the food tasted great overall.

Pros
- Flavorful dishes
- Usually prompt with delivery and setup
- Easy-to-use ordering form
- Affordable
Cons
- Limited to Indian cuisine
- High minimum orders
Hungry Indian Catering’s exquisite vegetarian menu reminded us again how we loved Indian food, even if it’s meatless!
We ordered the premium vegetarian buffet menu, which was one of our best decisions. The biryani rice, mock mutton masala, and tahu sambal from this menu were grand slam hits.
We also like that the price per person is relatively affordable. Given the food quality, we did score a best-value deal with Hungry Indian.
That said, the minimum order for the buffet was quite high at 40 people. Even the party set required a minimum order of 20, so we think this service is not the best choice for small groups.
There were some hiccups in our transaction with Hungry Indian, as we had to wait two days for the order confirmation.
Note also that there was no clear-cut time frame for the cancellation of paid orders, so be sure you’re going through with the service before you hire them.

Pros
- Beautiful food presentation
- Allows mixing of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes
- Allows self-collection
Cons
- A bit pricey
- No dedicated vegetarian menus
We found it convenient that Orange Clove Catering went beyond food catering. We also availed of their event conceptualization and logistics setup services.
As for the food, the selection was impressive.
We particularly love that there were plenty of vegetarian options to choose from, allowing us to mix up our buffet menu to cater to our team’s various preferences.
That said, we would have loved it more had Orange Clove offered a dedicated package for vegetarians.
We needed to comb through the long list of buffet dishes to choose plant-based meals instead. It took us a while to customize a vegetarian-friendly buffet!
Upon booking, we had the choice to allow Orange Clove to curate the menu, but we didn’t like the generated results.
The buffet prices leaned on the expensive side, too, so we had to up our budget.
The buffet presentation, though, was impeccable. The food looked tasty (and was actually tasty) and the event setup wowed our guests.

Pros
- Big portions
- Offers both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals
- Generally tasty
Cons
- Occasional delivery issues
- A bit of a hit-and-miss when it comes to customer requests
NouRiche is not your usual caterer, as it focuses on providing confinement meals for new mothers. Still, we think it’s worth mentioning here precisely due to its specialization.
We sampled the single-meal option for vegetarians. We also had a lactating mother join us in the taste test.
What we love most is that NouRiche delivered a generous portion of its dishes, enough to fill our tummies and our big-eating mom.
It’s also nice that we were able to customize our food, particularly on the salt content. We didn’t want our food to contain too much sodium, and the company delivered.
We had a bit of a problem with the delivery, though, as it came about half an hour late. We learned from past customers we interviewed that this is NouRiche’s weak point.
We hope the company can improve on its delivery side, as we don’t want mothers relying on the service to wait too long.
We think NouRiche could also use some creativity in cooking its confinement meals. Yes, they’re flavorful, but the presentation could be better.
