Brush up on sustainable farming with this guide to Bollywood Farms!
I didn’t like vegetables much growing up, but now I appreciate their health benefits. Visiting Bollywood Farms has helped me make great progress in trying more varieties, though I still have a way to go.
The farm is open to anyone interested in sustainable and organic farming. My husband and I gained valuable insights into nutrition and even joined in on some fun craft workshops and foraging activities!
If this sounds appealing, I highly recommend checking out the farm. I’ve curated a guide below to give you a better idea of what to expect!

What to Do
Go on a serene self-guided tour around the farm

Bollywood Farms is a great place to escape the hustle of the city, especially if you’re a big fan of gardening and countryside vibes. Almost all areas of the farm are educational, so this is also a great place to learn a new thing or two about farming.
One of my best recommendations is to go on a self-guided tour around the farm’s plantations. All of the gardens are packed with educational plaques where you can read up on what they’re growing there.
There’s little need for a tour guide, but the staff members are always open to lending a hand if you want some company!
Tip:
- There’s a wishing well near the entrance that you shouldn’t miss out on. It’s easy to spot thanks to the two red and yellow-spotted stone frogs sitting on the corners. If you feel like wishing for something, go ahead and drop a coin into the well!
Try to catch some fish at the pond

One of the most popular child-friendly activities you can do at the farm is to go fishing by the big pond. You can easily rent out bamboo sticks to catch small fish.
Tip:
- Bait will be provided by the staff. Don’t expect to do your typical fishing techniques here. There are no reels on the bamboo sticks provided, as you’ll simply tug on the line to catch any fish that latches on the hook!
Let your kids learn how to make a fruit salad

Another great activity you can do with your kids at the farm is to join in on the Arts in Nature session. This session aims to teach guests the importance of nutrition and healthy eating.
You’ll first go on a tour around the fruit gardens and then attend a short talk about the different health benefits of the fruits they grow on the farm. After, you and your kids will create your own fruit salad, fresh from the farm!
Tip:
- The salad-making activity is designed for children, but adults are welcome to participate. The portions for the salad will only be allocated for the children, however, but feel free to assist them!
Join sustainability craft workshops

One of the missions of Bollywood Farms is to promote the importance of sustainable and organic farming, and they do this by teaching visitors the many ways they can do arts and crafts by using natural products.
My husband and I participated in their flower arranging session before, but they also offer paper making, button sewing, and basic embroidery classes as well! All these workshops are child-friendly, too.
Tip:
- Participation in any of the workshops requires prior registration. Slots are limited, as materials and supplies for the activities will be allocated according to the number of people who registered for the activity. I highly recommend booking your slot in advance!
- You can make your reservation by giving them a call.
Where to Eat
Poison Ivy

Poison Ivy is the farm’s in-house restaurant that specialises in organic dishes made from ingredients grown in the gardens. Almost all of the food they serve is healthy and vegetarian-friendly, but they also put a twist on local favourites.
A few popular dishes include roasted black pepper chicken, Teochew-style fish porridge, nasi ulam (traditional herbed rice with veggies), and fried tofu.
Their signature menu is specially curated by Le Cordon Bleu-trained Chef Lynn Ee. The menu changes every once in a while, but you can check out their latest offerings on the farm’s official Instagram page!
Tip:
- If you prefer to have an exclusive and romantic dining experience at the restaurant, you can book a private dining session wherein Chef Lynn will personally curate a menu for you and your companion. She’ll be there to make all your chosen dishes fresh from the kitchen, with ingredients taken from the gardens. You can reserve a private lunch or dinner via phone call.
