You’ll finally swim with dolphins after reading this guide to Dolphin Island Singapore!
Swimming was never really my thing. I was content just admiring aquatic creatures from behind the glass at aquariums. But when it comes to dolphins, my absolute favourite marine animals, I’m not going to miss a chance to see them up close!
Anyone can say that they have seen dolphins up close but not everyone can say they have actually SWAM with one. Lucky for me (and you, after this), I can brag about doing both after a visit to Dolphin Island!
If you have been dreaming of getting up close and personal with these adorable marine mammals, here’s your guide to doing just that!

Things to Do at Dolphin Island
Meet and interact with dolphins at Dolphin Discovery
From cristinaalmeda
Dolphin Discovery is the perfect way to dip your feet into dolphin interaction—literally! If you’re not up for deep diving or aren’t a strong swimmer, this shallow lagoon experience is ideal.
The water is so shallow you can stand, and the guides keep things easygoing. You can simply wade around, getting up close with these charming dolphins without feeling pressured to swim.
It’s a fun, laid-back way to connect with these amazing creatures!
Tip:
- The minimum age to join the activity is 4 years old. Even if your children know how to swim, anyone below the age of 12 years old is required to have an adult companion with them throughout the experience.
Go deeper and dive with the dolphins at Dolphin Adventure
From toranjiths
Are you ready to take things up a notch? At Dolphin Adventure, you can actually swim and dive deeper into the lagoon with the dolphins swimming alongside you!
Don’t worry, this part of the lagoon isn’t super deep and there are guides who will help you all throughout the experience. Just get ready to get soaking wet as the experience includes riding on a boogie board and letting the dolphins push you around with it!
Tips:
- The minimum age to join the activity is 13 years old. Only guests who know how to swim with or without life vests are allowed to participate in the activity.
- Life jackets, masks, and snorkels will be provided. It’s important that participants will be assessed whether or not they are eligible to join the activity (as it requires swimming in deep waters).
Say “hello” to cute dolphins at Dolphin Encounter
From yogasms
For a first-time dolphin encounter, the Dolphin Encounter is highly recommended, especially if you prefer to stay dry. This program lets you interact closely with dolphins from the water’s edge, so you won’t feel like you’re missing out on the experience.
A marine mammal specialist is always on hand to share interesting facts, making the encounter both fun and educational. Just expect a few splashes here and there but no getting drenched!
Tip:
- I recommend wearing clothes that can easily dry up because the floors will be slippery and you might still get your clothes wet when you kneel down to interact with the dolphins.
