Guide to the Perfect Day at Siloso Beach: Top Things to Do, See, & Eat

Did you know that Singapore, despite its tiny size, actually comprises 64 islands? Out of all those islands, my absolute favourite is Sentosa.

It’s a manmade island, and so are its beaches, and the liveliest one is Siloso Beach. Here, families and groups of friends love to hang out for drinks, play volleyball, or wade in the sea. It’s hard not to get sucked into vacation mode!

So, if you’re planning a beach trip soon, here’s my list of the best things to do, eat, and see in Siloso Beach!

How to Get to Siloso Beach

By Train: There are no train stations on Sentosa Island to get to Siloso Beach, but you can take the MRT to Harbourfront. From there, you can reach Sentosa Island by bus, the Sentosa Express, or taxi.

By Bus: There are buses from City Square Mall and Marina Bay Sands that take you to the Beach Station Bus Terminal. From there, you take Bus 123 and alight near Siloso Beach. It will only be a short walk away.

By Car: The nearest car park to Siloso Beach is Beach Station Carpark.

Top Things to Do in Siloso Beach

Lounge on the beach all day (or night)

From tantemobi

Siloso Beach offers an ideal setting for a day out with family and friends, especially if you love spending a whole morning or afternoon lounging on the sand.

It stands out for its lively atmosphere. It’s one of the busiest beaches in Sentosa, attracting both tourists and locals and creating a vibrant party vibe right on the sand.

Tip:

  • You can bring your dogs to play and relax with you on the shore, but please keep them on a leash and ensure they stay close to the water’s edge, even in calm conditions.

Rent a kayak

From ninja.kayakers.foilers

If you prefer the water to the sand, Siloso Beach has plenty to offer. Paddleboarding and kayaking are particularly popular.

Several stalls along the beach rent out boards and kayaks for all sizes and skill levels. Beginners can get help selecting a suitable board from the vendors, though most boards will work fine.

It’s a good idea to practise near the shore before heading further out. Be sure to stay within any marked boundaries in the water!

Tip:

  • Many kayakers paddle from Siloso Beach to Tanjong Beach. It’s not recommended for beginners, but if you have an experienced friend with you, go for it!

Go bungee jumping at Skypark Sentosa

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday, 11:30 am to 7:30 pm

Website

Do you have a lot of adrenaline you want to burn? Face your fears and try bungee jumping nearly 50 metres from the ground at Skypark Sentosa for a change.

Bungee jumping isn’t a typical activity you’ll find at a beach, but just imagine the views, thrills, and fun you’ll experience trying it out! It’s obviously not for the faint of heart, but if you’ve never gone bungee jumping before, here’s the place to do it.

Plus, you can quickly cross this off your bucket list and brag about the experience to your friends back home!

Tips:

  • If you’re scared to bungee jump on your own, you can actually ask the crew members to do a tandem jump with you. This kind of service, however, is not always available (because some staff members may be too busy).
  • Make a booking here at least two weeks or a month in advance to ensure a slot. They get fully booked quickly, especially in the summer!

Climb, jump, and zipline at Mega Adventure

Address: 10A Siloso Beach Walk

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday, 11:00 am to 6:30 pm

Website

If bungee jumping isn’t enough, you can get more rounds of thrill and fun at Mega Adventure. This beachside amusement park offers three main activities which you can do one at a time or in combination.

There’s the MegaZip (a zipline across the whole beach and lands on Siloso Island), MegaClimb (a treetop obstacle that lets you cross through ropes and planks on a suspended path), and MegaJump (cliff jumping with a 15-metre plunge).

The other two, MegaSail and MegaBounce are other options you can do. The former is like an American Ninja Warrior-type obstacle course and the latter is a mini trampoline bungee park designed for kids.

Tips:

  • Visitors of all ages are welcome at any of the park’s activities, but there’s a height and weight requirement of 1.20 metres and 30 kg. Children weighing below 30 kg should be accompanied by an adult when using MegaZip.
  • Each ticket you buy grants you a single entry to each of their activities. If you want to go for another round, you have to purchase another ticket.

Learn how to paddleboard at the Singapore Paddle Club

Address: 46 Siloso Beach Walk, Ola Beach Club

Tuesday, 6:15 am to 9:00 pm

Thursday, 6:15 am to 9:00 pm

Saturday, 9:00 am to 11:45 am

Website

The Singapore Paddle Club is one of the best places to learn how to paddleboard, especially if you want to take it seriously. The club offers rookie signups wherein you book 3 introductory sessions for $90 and learn all the basics of the sport.

Of course, you won’t become an expert after those sessions are up. If you want to pick up the sport, you can also sign up to become a member and join their weekly paddling sessions.

Plus, you get exclusive discounts on food, drinks, and merch, as well as gain access to the club’s private equipment collection of canoes and surf skis.

Tips:

  • It’s important to note that the club will only allow applicants to join the rookie sessions if they know how to float and swim. Any person who has never taken a swimming lesson will be prohibited from joining the sessions.
  • Rookie registration closes every Thursday before 12:00 noon or when the paddling group for the day reaches 8 people. You’ll have to sign up for the next session if you miss out on the registration deadline.

Tipsy Unicorn, in a nutshell, is Barbie’s Dream House meets tropical vibes and beachside fun. This quirky beach club and bar is not hard to miss when strolling along the beach thanks to its bright pink, purple, and white-striped decor.

It’s one of the newer establishments along the beach, so you’ll find many tourists gathering here to lounge on the cute daybeds, sip on cocktails while wading in the pool, and dance to the pulsating beats from the carousel-themed DJ booth.

Tips:

  • They offer fitness events for guests looking to exercise before enjoying the party or relaxing. HIIT and yoga classes, each lasting 60 minutes, can be booked in advance on this page.
  • Additionally, you can hire a personal trainer to assist with your fitness goals. For more information on hiring a personal trainer, click here.

Create your own signature perfume at Scentopia

Address: 36 Siloso Beach Walk, Unit 01-04

Contact Details: +65 8031 7081

Operating Hours:

Monday to Sunday, 11:00 am to 7:00 pm

Website

Crafting your own perfumes isn’t a typical beach activity, but you can definitely do that Scentopia. Get as much inspiration as you can on the beach before you enter the perfumery because you might just spend hours creating your signature scent here.

The staff members will first orient you on the different notes and bases you can mix and match. Their most popular scents are orchid or flower-based, but there are also musky, oud, fruity, powdery, and fresh scents available.

I say get the orchid-based ones because that’s Singapore’s national flower! They make for great souvenirs, too.

Tip:

  • Unfamiliar with orchids? Scentopia’s website offers a comprehensive database of perfume profiles, history, tips, recipes, and orchid types to help you understand the orchid perfume-making process. We suggest familiarising yourself with the basics before your visit!

Trek the whole length of Siloso Beach with the Coastal Trail

Address: Coastal Trail, starts at Siloso Point

Operating Hours:

Monday to Saturday, 7:00 am to 12:00 am

Sunday, 12:00 am to 6:00 am, 7:00 am to 12:00 am

Website

If you love hiking and fancy a little bit of an adventure while at the beach, I highly recommend trekking the Coastal Trail. It’s one of the more popular hiking trails on Sentosa Island but it’s also one of the shortest (2.2 kilometres!).

The start of the trail is at Siloso Point, but you can basically access it from any point along the beach. You’ll encounter lots of wildlife here, mainly birds, lizards, and snakes, so keep an eye out for them!

Tip:

  • Take a minute to explore the Coastal Trail as much as possible instead of breezing through it for a brisk workout. There are rock sculptures hidden along the trail, so keep an eye out for them!

Catch day and night entertainment at the Central Beach Bazaar

Operating Hours:

Monday to Sunday, 11:00 am to 9:00 pm

The Central Beach Bazaar is the place to go if you’re looking for light and sound shows on the island. This complex is designed like a carnival wherein stalls offer admission to carnival games, shows, VR experiences, and so much more.

It’s like a tropical version of the famous Coney Island boardwalk in New York City but without the rides. Instead, you can get tickets to shows like Wings of Time, Sentosa Musical Fountain, and the Sentosa Skyjet.

Plus, if you’re hungry, there’s an international food hub within the area where you can buy hearty finger food and drinks.

Tip:

  • Currently, the light and sound shows at Central Beach Bazaar are temporarily closed due to oil spill clean-up efforts in the area. You can still, however, play the carnival games or dine your heart out at the food stalls. The seating area in front of the shows is still free to use, though.

Go water jetpacking at Ola Beach Club

Address: 46 Siloso Beach Walk

Contact Details: +65 8028 3228

Operating Hours:

Monday to Friday, 10:00 am to 9:00 pm

Saturday, 9:00 am to 10:00 pm

Sunday, 9:00 am to 9:00 pm

Website

Are you a Back To The Future fan? If so, then you can make your hoverboarding (sort of) dreams come true with water jetpacking at Ola Beach Club.

There’s a watersports centre within the club and the only one on the island that offers this exhilarating service. For $198 per person, you get to ride on a jet board that shoots water and takes you up 30 feet in the air!

You can do all sorts of flips and stunts if you’ve done it multiple times before. If you’re a beginner, don’t worry, there are instructors there to keep you steady!

Tips:

  • Guests who want to try the jetpacking experience must have swimming skills in order to book. The club has the right to refuse service if you can’t swim, even if an instructor will be there to help you.
  • There are weight and height requirements for this activity. You’ll need to be over 16 years old and must not weigh more than 90 kg!

Go island hopping to Siloso Beach Island

Address: 10 Siloso Beach Walk

Compared to other tropical destinations in Southeast Asia, Singapore doesn’t have as many islands. At Siloso Beach, however, you can at least walk your way to another island using a suspended rope bridge!

This kind of island-hopping activity is unique to Sentosa Island, and it’s probably one of the more touristy things you can do at the beach. Just cross the long Siloso Bridge to get to Siloso Beach Island, and you’ve successfully “island-hopped.”

You have the option to spend the day on the small island or on the main beach. Either way, they’re just a short walk apart in case you get bored!

Tips:

  • There is little to no lighting at Siloso Beach Island, so I really don’t recommend staying there when it gets dark. As soon as you take those Instagram-worthy shots of the sunset, make your way back to the main beach for your safety!
  • You can also swim your way to the island if you wish, but I’d only recommend that if you’re an experienced swimmer.

Show your spike prowess at the volleyball courts

Address: 8 Siloso Beach Walk

A trip to the beach is not complete without a few rounds of beach volleyball! Siloso Beach’s numerous beach courts are a few of the best on the island, thanks to the spacious play area and lively energy of the crowd.

It’s completely free to play volleyball here, so long as you bring your own ball. I highly recommend dropping by on a weekend morning to catch avid players showing their athletic prowess on the courts!

If you’re not into volleyball, that’s fine. People use the courts for all sorts of sports like frisbee and football, too!

Tips:

  • If you don’t want to play volleyball with a huge crowd watching you, I recommend dropping by on a weekday morning. There are fewer people during this time.
  • Be careful when playing volleyball here. The beach courts are located near major lounging spots on the beach, and if you miss a ball, you might hit someone in the head with it!

Where to Eat and Drink in Siloso Beach

Rumours Beach Club

Address: 40 Siloso Beach Walk

Contact Details: +65 9776 9190

Pricing: $$ to $$$

Operating Hours:

Monday to Thursday, 11:00 am to 10:00 pm

Friday to Sunday, 10:00 am to 10:00 pm

Website

When I need a break from the city, I head to Rumours Beach Club to soak up the sun. Aside from the stunning view, this Bali-inspired club and restaurant serves up hearty Balinese food with a barbecue twist that never disappoints my palate.

Since it’s a beachside restaurant, you can expect a lot of seafood-based meals here. There’s salted egg pasta with tiger prawns, sweet and sour sambal snapper, crispy squid, and coffee-smoked pork ribs.

After filling your stomach, wash it all down with a class of their Honey Kiss HighBall!

Tips:

  • Although the club accepts walk-ins, they can only accommodate guests according to their capacity. Seating is very limited, so if all tables are taken when you arrive, the staff will regretfully decline to serve you.
  • There is a minimum spend requirement depending on where you sit inside the restaurant. There are daybeds, couches, cabanas, and more that require an order of at least $100. The alfresco dining area, although tiny, has no minimum spend.

Coastes

Address: 50 Siloso Beach Walk

Pricing: $ to $$

Operating Hours:

Monday to Thursday, 11:00 am to 9:00 pm

Friday, 11:00 am to 10:30 pm

Saturday, 9:00 am to 10:30 pm

Sunday, 9:00 am to 9:00 pm

Website

If a chill morning or afternoon grub with friends and family is what I’m after, then I don’t think twice about heading to Coastes for their weekly specials menu. Dining here is an absolute treat, thanks to their beachside tables, hearty meals, and vibrant ambience.

The food here is simple, but they pack a punch when it comes to flavour and overall servings. My best recommendations are the chorizo and scallops risotto, the Angus beef burger, garlic prawns, and cheese pizza

To top it all off, get a serving of their strawberry lava cheesecake or their Sinfully Good chocolate fudge brownie. They’re simply the cherries on top!

Tips:

  • Coastes is a pet-friendly restaurant, with a seating area right by the water’s edge. If you want to snag those tables (because they’re also pretty spacious spots for your furry ones to roam free), make a reservation at least a day before.
  • They offer weekly specials that change constantly. If you want to get first dibs on what’s on the menu, scan the QR code on their online menu here

Bikini Bar

Address: 50 Siloso Beach Walk, #01-01

Pricing: $ to $$

Operating Hours:

Monday to Thursday, 2:00 pm to 9:30 pm

Friday, 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm

Saturday, 12:00 pm to 10:30 pm

Sunday, 12:00 pm to 9:30 pm

Website

Bikini Bar is one of the hippest places to get drinks and bar bites on the beach. Its colourful facade is hard to miss when walking by, and the lively atmosphere plus great music can really draw you in.

I had some of the best hangouts here with friends and coworkers, and I super love their cocktails. They have a wide range of classic cocktails and mocktails to fit any palate, but I personally like the Singapore Sling (because it’s the perfect fruity drink for the vibe).

I also love that they have a Nutri-Grade scale on their menu for everyone’s reference. If you’re conscious about your health, you need to check them out!

Tips:

  • The bar offers discounts and promotions on their cocktails almost daily, with their most popular promo being the Tropical Cocktail Specials. They launch a special cocktail and offer it at a lower price for some time.
  • I had the Siloso Sling for $12 a pop on my last visit! The seating area here is very small, so if the place is packed, you might have to enjoy your drink on the sand nearby. Get there on a weekday afternoon to snag a seat!

Trapizza

Address: 10 Siloso Beach Walk, #01-01

Pricing: $$ to $$$

Contact Details: +65 6376 2662

Operating Hours:

Monday to Thursday, 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Friday to Sunday, 11:00 am to 10:00 pm

Website

Trapizza sits between casual and luxury for me, but I don’t think I’ve regretted splurging myself with their craft pizzas even once. This swanky but cosy Italian restaurant is headed by native Italian Chef Giordano Bramucci.

His love for Italian pasta and pizza really shines in almost every item on their menu. I’ve tried their bestsellers and signatures, Spaghetti Alla Carbonara and Linguine Trapizza, and raved about it to my friends.

Safe to say, I keep coming back for more when I feel like spoiling myself. Coupled with the beautiful beachside views, it’s always an eat, pray, and self-love moment here for me.

Tips:

  • The restaurant takes your order via QR code. There are waiters inside that can assist you in case the digital menu doesn’t work!
  • Water here is known to be pricey (around $3 per bottle). I recommend asking for tap water to save up on your overall bill. There’s a play area for children near the restaurant, but it’s currently undergoing some maintenance work.

Sand Bar

Address: 53 Siloso Beach Walk

Pricing: $$

Operating Hours:

Saturday, 3:00 pm to 1:00 am

Website

Another cosy and casual hangout spot for hungry and thirsty beachgoers is Sand Bar. Located on the far eastern side of the beach, this vibrant beach bar and bistro offers a plethora of craft beers, cocktails, and bar chows.

Although their menu is limited to pizza and beach snacks, they’re pretty affordable considering its location. They specialise in Roman pizzas with a local twist like chicken satay, chilli crab, and pulled chicken toppings.

I also definitely recommend trying the deep-fried salted egg squid and chicken tikka skewers. They’re best paired with any of the bar’s craft beers!

Tips:

  • Every Saturday, Sand Bar hosts Sunset Saturdays where they invite DJs to play tropical tunes while guests sip on their drinks and chow on food.
  • The event starts at 6:00 pm and ends until way past midnight. If you’re coming with a group, I recommend buying bottles of liquor instead of ordering a la carte drinks. The bar offers great discounts if you buy drinks by the bottle.
