Each spoonful was a refreshing treat, but it was the mango sticky rice that captured the essence of Thailand in every bite.

Pro-tip: The bingsu comes in a generous portion, perfect for sharing between three people.

This charming little spot has become a go-to for late-night cookies, perfect for satisfying those sweet cravings.

Walking into Ah Chew Desserts feels like stepping back in time, with its charming old-school decor and a menu packed with traditional Chinese desserts. I couldn’t resist trying the mango pomelo sago, a creamy yet refreshing treat that’s a must for any mango lover.

The black sesame soup was also comforting, warm, and velvety, just like a hug in a bowl.

Pro-tip: It’s self-service at the counter. Place your order, grab a beeper, and they’ll buzz you when your food is ready for collection.

Tian Wang Desserts offers a wide range of Chinese traditional sweets which was a pleasant surprise. Its signature mango pomelo sago was a refreshing delight, with a perfect balance of fruity and creamy flavours.

For something more classic, I tried the yam paste with pumpkin, and it was classic comfort in a bowl, rich and silky smooth.

Pro-tip: Don’t miss the durian chendol—a delicious mix of coconut meat noodles, atap seeds, green jelly strips, and rich D24 durian mousse.

10. Gong He Guan

Gong He Guan has become my go-to for rich, creamy Chinese desserts. Its sesame paste was perfectly smooth and nutty, like something my grandma made for me when I was little.

I also couldn’t resist the warm yam paste, which had just the right amount of sweetness and a velvety texture that melts in your mouth.

Pro-tip: The easiest way to get there is by taking the MRT to Chinatown station; the shop is right across from the exit.
