Pros
- Clinic has six branches across Singapore’s best hospitals
- Top-notch tele-consult services available
Cons
- Early cut-off
- Relatively shorter weekend hours
gutCARE is a one-stop hub for the best gastroenterologist services in Singapore. With six branches spread across the country’s business districts, the clinic’s services are one of the most accessible for digestive health.
On top of their prime locations, each branch is helmed by highly qualified doctors trained to provide top-notch screening services to their patients. Patients coming in have every reason to feel safe and heard.
The clinic’s screening facilities are also top of the line. Patients who may be suffering from severe conditions can get the best treatment plan possible with minimal downtime.
If you prefer to get medical advice from the comfort of your own home, gutCARE offers tele-consult services. We think it’s an excellent plus for patients who can’t attend the clinic due to difficulty or restrictions.
While we’re impressed by their efforts to make medical care accessible online, we noticed that face-to-face appointments have slight caveats.
Clinic hours have a cut-off; they can only accept patients at least 30 minutes to an hour before closing. This makes walk-in appointments slightly tricky for those who need immediate attention.
If your free time lands on the weekend, we highly suggest coming in early on their Saturday shifts. They have relatively shorter hours on the weekend on top of their regular cut-off.

Pros
- Tele-consult services available
- Wide range of diagnostic testing/equipment
Cons
- No emergency hotline
- Relatively short weekend hours
Nobel Gastroenterology Centre is spearheaded by Dr. Eric Wee and Dr. Wang Yu Tien, two certified gastroenterologists in Singapore who specialise in identifying and treating digestive diseases.
The clinic’s diagnostic testing and equipment are some of its most defining features. We think that the accuracy of their screening procedures is a testament to their calibre of medical practice.
The clinic has two locations in Singapore’s best hospitals. While the clinic itself doesn’t offer emergency care, patients can still access excellent trauma and urgent care services in the said hospitals.
This makes getting supervision or a second opinion very convenient for patients. It’s worth highlighting that both head doctors have extensive experience treating even the most delicate cases.
If in case you can’t show up to an appointment in person, the clinic’s tele-consultation services are available. We think it’s a great feature that patients can take advantage of from the comfort of their own homes.
If you plan to book a face-to-face appointment, we highly suggest getting a slot in the morning. Saturdays have shorter operating hours, however, so better to head there early to avoid losing slots.
We think Nobel Gastroenterology Centre is an excellent choice for patients seeking expert medical advice across mild to serious digestive conditions.

Pros
- 24/7 hotline available
- Clinic has admitting privileges at four hospitals
Cons
- Short weekend hours
- Tele-consult services unavailable
Hope Gastroenterology and Liver Clinic covers mild to severe digestive diseases, including cases affecting the liver. We think their expertise in handling delicate cases is why they deserve to be on our list.
One of their service features we want to highlight is their 24/7 hotline. This is especially useful for patients who need immediate assistance past working hours.
Despite the accessibility, the hotline is not for tele-consult services. The clinic currently doesn’t offer remote assessments, and we honestly think that this is a point of improvement for them.
Another thing is their relatively short weekend hours. We recommend patients book a slot ahead of time and arrive at the clinic early to avoid their early cut-off on Saturdays.
Dr. Tan Hui Hui and Dr. Kelvin Thia are the specialists who helm the clinic. Their medical advice is thorough, and prescriptions are always tailored to the needs and lifestyles of their patients.
What’s more, the clinic has special admitting privileges at four established hospitals in Singapore. This means that you can easily get accommodation and skip the lines through the doctors’ request.
Overall, Hope Gastroenterology and Liver Clinic is a solid choice for patients who need specific digestive and liver treatments as well as assistance in hospital accommodation.

Pros
- Specialises in transplant surgeries
- State-of-the-art diagnostic testing
Cons
- Second branch is only open every Friday
- No emergency hotline or tele-consult services
Dr. Desmond Wai is a multi-awarded gastroenterologist in Singapore who helms the Desmond Wai Liver & Gastrointestinal Diseases Centre. As a liver specialist, his medical expertise makes him one of the best consultants for a wide range of cases.
We think a second opinion from Dr. Wai is an excellent way of truly determining any other underlying causes of symptoms. His clinic treats patients with the utmost care and professionalism, as expected from an esteemed specialist like him.
That said, it’s worth noting that the clinic’s diagnostic testing is accessible and diverse. We highly regard Dr, Wai’s efforts in giving comprehensive workups and treatments to patients.
Even patients with delicate cases are under great care with Dr. Wai. As an expert transplant surgeon, Dr. Wai can provide a tailored recovery plan to help patients get back on their feet.
However, while his medical advice is sought-after, his clinic doesn’t offer tele-consult services. In-person assessments should be booked ahead of time as well.
We also highly suggest scheduling an appointment on dates Dr. Wai is available. His clinic’s second branch only operates every Friday, so make sure to book the right location and date.
These caveats aside, we still think Dr. Wai’s is a solid choice for patients suffering from delicate cases like cancer or chronic diseases.

Pros
- Doctor is multilingual
- Clinic is located in a prime location
Cons
- Shorter weekend hours
- Tele-consult services unavailable
GI Endoscopy and Liver Centre is another highly accessible medical clinic that offers top-notch diagnostic and surgical treatments related to digestive health.
Located in a central business district, this clinic lives up to its slogan as your one-stop solution for digestive diseases.
Dr. Quan Wai Long helms the clinic and is an expert in stone removal. Aside from his specialty, his clinic also offers various services and comprehensive treatment plans.
You also don’t have to worry much if your first language isn’t English. Dr. Quan is fluent in Mandarin, Hokkien, and Cantonese, but we do suggest letting the clinic know in advance for assistance.
The clinic’s specialty in treating bile duct stones is what we think is their most special trait. Dr. Quan is known to use laser technology to remove stones, a medical tech feat revered among his peers.
That said, we don’t doubt that he’s one of the best gastroenterologists in Singapore for that specific procedure. Depending on your case, Dr. Quan can also prescribe other less invasive procedures with equally minimal downtime.
The only points of improvement we noted are the shorter weekend hours and missing tele-consult services. As expected from an esteemed doctor, booking an appointment may be difficult but not impossible after a few tweaks in scheduling.
We highly recommend booking a weekday slot and avoiding coming in late to your appointment. If there are concerns you want to be addressed before the consult, you may contact the clinic.
