The 5 Best Tailor Services in Singapore

How We Picked

Ease of Communication

From the right measurements to the designs, tailors should be able to get all the necessary information in order to achieve clients’ vision for their garments.

Experience

A company’s longevity in the industry is usually a testament to its experience and expertise. Therefore, we picked companies that have been in the industry for a couple of years and even decades.

Quality of Work

A tailor’s good craftsmanship is usually reflected in the garments that they have made or altered. Thus, we selected tailors who are known to make visually pleasing garments with high-quality materials.

Rates

Tailored garments are worthwhile investments, especially when properly made. For this reason, we narrowed down companies that will make sure you get your money’s worth.

Pros

  • Offers high-tech services
  • Publicly transparent with their pricing
  • Offers made-to-measure menswear
  • Materials are ethically sourced

Cons

  • Strictly makes menswear
  • Services can be pricey

If you’re looking for modern and fashion-forward menswear, search no further because SuitYourself is definitely the company for you.

From made-to-measure menswear to ethically sourced high-quality materials, this company has it all!

We especially like that this company is established by a couple of undergraduates who built the company with one goal in mind: boosting the confidence and self-assuredness of everyday men.

And since the owners of SuitYourself are young men themselves, it makes sense that their services keep up with technological trends. In fact, getting measured by them doesn’t just involve measuring tapes and rulers but also a 3D body scan!

Now while everything is already up to standard, we want to re-emphasize that SuitYourself is strictly a menswear company. And since their company offers high-tech services, expect to pay more than usual.

Pros

  • Has 3 decades of industry experience
  • Offers various modes of tailoring services
  • The founder’s son, Dimesh, is very hands-on

Cons

  • Not publicly transparent with their pricing
  • Response to customer inquiries may take time

With three decades worth of industry experience and professionalism under their belt, it’s no wonder why Ehkay Corner Tailors is still one of Singapore’s most sought-after tailoring service companies.

For starters, their tailoring services are not only top-notch but also keep up with trends of the modern times. So if you want your tailoring service in-store, online, or even virtual, Ehkay Corner Tailor can accommodate all of these for you!

We especially like that Dinesh, the founder’s son, really took his time to take our measurements and even went as far as to advise us on the appropriate fabric and designs for our garment.

Indeed, his keen eye has helped create clothes that are easy on the eyes and fit our bodies like a glove.

As for the cost of their services, we personally think that they’re a good value for your money. However, it could get a bit pricey depending on the type of garment you want to be tailored.

They, unfortunately, don’t have an online price list that you can refer to for the cost of their tailoring services, but you can easily shoot them an inquiry on the Contact Us portion of their website.

We’d like to warn you though that due to the influx of customer inquiries that Ehkay Corner Tailor gets daily, it’s highly likely that you’ll get a response for your inquiry at a later time.

Pros

  • Sources premium quality fabrics
  • Controls their own supply chain to avoid charging mark-up costs

Cons

  • Service and products are pricey
  • Strictly offers menswear tailoring services

Edit Suits Co. has been many Singaporean males’ go-to for a number of reasons.

For starters, this company understands that off-the-rack clothing often fits poorly and fails to leave a lasting impression, which is the last thing a job seeker needs when taking a shot at a corporate position.

And to fix that, Edit Suits Co. has various tailoring services and products that allow clients to create a garment that perfectly fits and is flattering to the eye.

And more than the aesthetics, this company is known to procure premium quality fabrics. In fact, they aren’t big fans of wholesale and are instead the primary supervisors of Edit Suits Co.’s own supply chain.

In doing so, clients aren’t subjected to pay mark-up costs for middlemen services.

However, as much as we applaud their effort of doing everything themselves to avoid a hike in price, we still believe that their alterations and garments lean toward the pricier side.

So for men who are on a tight budget, this company might not be for you. But for those who can splurge a little, we believe that Edit Suits Co. can fashion a garment that’s truly worth your money.

Pros

  • Has been established since 1970
  • Tailors are trained by master craftsman
  • Good value for your money

Cons

  • Not publicly transparent with their pricing
  • Not responsive on the Contact Us portion of their website

Since its establishment in 1970, Meiko Tailor has been providing Singaporeans the appropriate tailoring service depending on their needs.

So whether it be suit jackets, trousers, and shirts, this company can certainly create  every garment there is to imagine!

On top of that, every experienced tailor in this company has been trained by Master Tailor Chung, whose expertise has molded not just expert tailors but also craftsmen.

Therefore, should you avail of Meiko Tailor’s services, you can expect keen-eyed tailors to help you through the process of creating a garment that not only perfectly fits you but also suits your personal taste.

Of course, such artistry and craftsmanship don’t come for free. But fret not because this company offers competitive prices that won’t hurt your wallet unless you’re really in a pinch.

Since they’re not publicly transparent with their pricing, we actually needed to contact them through the Contact Us portion on their website and their hotline.

However, to make sure that they respond to your inquiries, we encourage you to reach out to their hotline instead since they didn’t acknowledge the message that we left on their website.

Pros

  • Services are affordable
  • Makes basic and timeless garments

Cons

  • Their simple designs may not be for everyone
  • Website is hard to navigate

Inventory introduces a very straightforward yet timeless take on clothing, and we believe these are the reasons why many Singaporeans are drawn to this company.

With just a quick glance, one would get the idea that Inventory takes pride in simpler yet practical designs.

Although at first, we weren’t too convinced of the simplicity of their garment, we came to understand that this company aims for designs that can withstand the test of time.

And with the increase of young people subscribing to a capsule wardrobe, it only makes sense why there’s a continued demand for Inventory’s products and services.

It’s also a bonus that their made-to-measure garments are affordable. However, as affordable as their services may be, if you want a little razzle-dazzle in your custom garment, this company isn’t really for you.

It’s also worth noting that they took a long time to respond to our general inquiry regarding their service. We also found their website hard to navigate and a little too simplistic for our liking.
