Conveniently located inside the Lifelong Learning Institute, Vertical Institute is best known for their courses on SEO marketing, but they also have classes on other topics, such as data analytics, UX/UI design, and, of course, AI. 

I admit that their variety of AI courses is lacking; they only have one on generative AI and another on data science and AI. But this isn’t too much of a deal-breaker for me because these two courses are very comprehensive, lasting 21 hours each! 

Though these classes are done online (over Zoom), you’ll still be required to come at a certain time. It’s a good thing that you can choose your time slot (options for both weekdays and weekends), and if you miss one, you can attend a makeup class! 

The classes are also engaging and easy to follow, according to students. They told me that the teachers broke down the complex topics into practical examples, which students appreciated. 

It’s possible to get up to 70% course subsidy here, and if you use some SkillsFuture, PSEA, or UTAP credits, that price goes down even further! These promos are usually on a limited run, though, so keep that in mind.

Heicoders Academy is another institute with a more limited array of AI classes (they only have generative AI for automation and productivity, and data analytics and AI). Still, it’s a good spot because the courses are comprehensive. 

These classes are beginner-friendly as well. One student shared that she didn’t have a technical background, so she found the earlier modules challenging at times, but her teacher was great at explaining complex topics and using practical examples. 

The classes here are recorded, too, so students can watch them whenever and however many times they want. So convenient! 

Students also like how the classes are paced. Many institutes have several key topics lumped in a short lesson, but here, the topics are more spread out. So, the students don’t feel like they’re being rushed. 

Like any other tech institute on this list, Heicoders Academy is supported by SkillsFuture Singapore, PSEA, IBF-STS, and NTUC UTAP. Because of this, you can get up to 70% course fee subsidy!

For people who live up north, Tertiary Courses Singapore is a great place to go to learn AI. It’s located in Woodlands Square, so it’s easy to get to. The Woodlands MRT station is just nearby, and there are also several bus stops within walking distance.

The lineup of AI-related courses offered here is impressive, and you can be as niche as possible with your study focus. Maybe you’d like to focus on how to use AI to boost productivity or how to leverage this tool to automate businesses and develop LLMs. 

The environment here is pretty cool. The classroom is cosy with a lovely view outside, and the staff are sweet and friendly. 

The classes are also great. The teachers know how to make the lessons fun and engaging and how to break down topics into smaller, more digestible pieces. Additionally, the training materials are detailed and insightful.

The prices here tend to be on the higher end (between S$700 and S$1,000), but there are a few under S$500.

What makes AgileAsia Pte Ltd stand out from the others is that their AI courses are offered in partnership with the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Because of this, students can enjoy a subsidy of up to 90%! 

The array of AI courses is decent. They offer courses about AI in project or product management and business, and they also have classes on prompt engineering. It would’ve been better if the classes were a bit more specific, but these are still fine.

Students have told me that the classes are jam-packed with information. One shared that he found the classes to have a nice mix of theory and practical exercises, so it was easy to follow the flow. 

The instructors also received a lot of praise. One student shared that his instructor explained concepts clearly and was also able to bring some humour and warmth to the lessons.

However, some students shared complaints about the course counsellor/enrollment officer. One told me that she signed up for a class, but she didn’t get any confirmation via text or email. She also tried to follow up, but to no avail. It was frustrating all in all.
