As fans of Korean drama and K-pop, we were more than glad that Studio 03 helped us emulate the trendy ID photos that Korean actors and idols post on their social media. 

We specifically availed of their profile photo services where we each got to choose our preferred background colour from the 50 colourways offered. 

Our photos turned out well, and our skin even took on the sheen of the popular Korean glass skin. 

One of our team members remarked that the lighting washed out her tanned skin instead of highlighting it. Fortunately, Studio 03 also had a photo editor on standby to remedy that. 

Do note though that they will only edit one photo, which will also be the one that they will print. And once you’ve stepped out of the studio, the editor won’t honour any re-editing requests even if you still have time left from the 30-minute shoot duration. 

If you want to give your photos a nostalgic twist, Dollop Automat should be one top of your considerations. This self-photo studio exclusively produces black and white and vintage prints, which we think are perfect for couples and besties. 

My friend and I availed of the two, and we were satisfied with how our photos turned out. 

The black and white print truly had so much depth all thanks to the well-placed lighting at the studio. We were both wearing dark clothes that day, but the camera still managed to catch the details of the fabric. 

The vintage print also looked amazing. Our photo truly captured the old-timey vibe, and we even joked about how the photo was actually taken in the 70s. 

It was just a bit of a bummer because the studio only caters to two people. They also only offer three background colours for your photos. 

Despite those limitations though, we appreciate the fact that Dollop Automat lets you take unlimited photos within the 15-minute duration. The prints were also very affordable for four copies of four-inch by six-inch photos. 

Grey room, white room, colour room—you name it, Fotomat has just the right background for your photo shoot needs. 

Although the studios can only cater to two people per photo shoot, our team still decided to book slots for Fotomat’s colour room to spice up our IG feed. Needless to say, the quality of our prints turned out so good. 

We liked that the white background gave our photos a dramatic flair, and it was really evident that the lighting had been strategically placed to make our faces and skin stand out. 

The studio itself was pretty small, so we get why it can only accommodate two people. However, it wasn’t too much of a bother since we got to take unlimited shots for 15 minutes and were able to get two of our best photos printed on the same day. 

If anything, the only real downside was that the wires for the camera shutter were visible in our photos. Since there are no standby editors, there’s no way to edit it out (unless of course, you DIY it yourself using Photoshop.) 

Arcade Studio makes capturing memories unique with its vibrant photos and bright backgrounds. Our team of five tried their Deluxe package and we truly had fun during the allotted 30 minutes of shoot time.

Unlike other studios, Arcade’s spaces are warmly lit and they even provide cute props that you can use during your shoot. You can even borrow their Polaroid as a prop, which we think was so cool. 

In terms of the actual print, they weren’t really the best quality. However, they have this sort of grainy texture in them that is reminiscent of photos you take with a Polaroid. 

We personally didn’t mind the photo quality at all but we can see how it might not be what others might expect, especially since the fee per session is quite pricey. Arcade makes up for that though through their memento box. 

You can also request for your photos to come in Polaroid prints with your preferred border colour. 

Little Snap Productions is a classic self-photo studio where you, your friends, and your family can capture beautiful moments together. This studio is perhaps the best one that we found for big groups, so naturally, our team tried it. 

We liked that they didn’t limit their background to just plain colours. In fact, you can customise your background and photo template depending on the theme that you like or the event that you’re commemorating. 

There were also lots of props to choose from, which other patrons might find enjoyable like we did.  

We do, however, admit that Little Snap Productions’ camera setting was pretty simple so our photos were unfiltered. The lighting was also just one tone and very white, so our faces were much lighter than the rest of our bodies. 

All things considered, the prints still have a good quality, but they’re the kind you keep in your wallet or tack on your wall as a remembrance of a good time.
