Pros

  • Offers a wide array of breakfast pastries and baked goods such as croissants, beignets, pretzels, and tarts
  • Reasonably priced

Cons

  • Pastries weren’t the best tasting; the pain au chocolat was tough to chew
  • Delivery may take up to 40 minutes to an hour

Le Petit Croissant’s breakfast delivery service is many Singaporeans’ go-to for a number of good reasons.

To start with, their breakfast menu is packed with French-inspired pastries and other baked delights that are best paired with hot coffee.

Not only that but these sweet, savoury, and flaky goodies—ranging from muffins, croissants, beignets, pretzels, tarts, and many more—are also available in customisable packages that can feed more than 100 people.

Since there were 15 people in my department at work, I ordered a breakfast box consisting of 30 mini croissants and 30 mini pains au chocolat, which were absolutely delish.

The croissant was buttery, flaky, and soft. The pain au chocolat, on the other hand, wasn’t overly sweet, but it was tougher to chew and tasted less fresh compared to the croissant.

My coworkers all agreed that the pastries weren’t the best that we’ve tasted, but for $110, it’s not a complete waste of money.

Furthermore, the delivery took a little longer than I would have liked, but the delivery guy kept me updated all throughout and even apologised for the delay.

Pros

  • Serves hearty and healthy breakfast foods
  • Fresh ingredients, like organic eggs, fruits, and vegetables, are incorporated in their breakfast options
  • Big serving

Cons

  • Pricey
  • Inconsistent delivery speed

Although more known for their excellently brewed coffees, Atlas Coffeehouse is no stranger to praises directed towards their breakfast items.

This restaurant’s breakfast foods are hearty and healthy and boast fresh ingredients like fruits and vegetables.

My friend and I especially love their smashed avocado and watermelon, which consist of organic eggs on top of smashed avo, three slices of sourdough, and cherry tomatoes on fresh cream.

The cherry tomatoes, to us, have always been the star of the show, and their juicy, sweet, and a little bit tangy taste has consistently elevated the tastiness of the other food elements in the dish.

As a fan of coffee, I also love to treat myself to their vanilla latte, but my friend insists that the iced toffeenut is superior.

In terms of serving, this restaurant is the opposite of stingy. In fact, my friend and I would often share a dish meant for one person.

If anything, our only issue as frequent patrons is that their delivery service is inconsistent. We noticed that there are times when delivery is quick, but on some days, they would even take an hour or more for our food to get delivered.

We also want you to note that the food, not just the breakfast items, in Atlas Coffeehouse is relatively pricey.

Pros

  • Delicious breakfast items that incorporate fresh ingredients like fresh cream and whipped yoghurt
  • Incorporates unique flavours such as flower-infused sweet syrup
  • Delivery is always on time

Cons

  • Small selection of breakfast items
  • Serving size is small
  • Pricey

Amber Ember is a little hip restaurant that offers a few breakfast options. Make no mistake though because they may have a small breakfast selection, but all of these dishes pack unique and mouth-watering flavours.

Their pistachio rose waffle, in particular, is such an odd combo that you’ll never believe it has the potential to taste good. However, as soon as I bit into the soft waffle, I was proven wrong.

Not only was it soft, but it was also perfectly accompanied by the whipped yoghurt cream and the sweet and floral rose syrup that was lathered on it.

The chopped pistachios also added a crunchy texture and nutty flavour.

Looking back, I wish Amber Ember was a little more generous in terms of serving size considering that their food items are all relatively expensive.

When it comes to their delivery services, I always received my food on time. However, I would appreciate it if the delivery person would keep me updated on their whereabouts or their estimated time of arrival.

More often than not, they would just appear on my doorstep or at my office without a heads up, which interrupted my work unexpectedly.

Pros

  • Generous serving
  • Breakfast meals are packed with various ingredients such as grilled veggies, proteins, bread, and even salads

Cons

  • Pricey
  • Inconsistent delivery speed

Penny University was able to satisfy our (my partner and I) craving for a classic and comforting breakfast dish all thanks to their Special Builder’s Breakfast.

This breakfast item consists of an egg cooked according to your preference, chicken sausage, sauteed mushrooms, turkey bacon, potatoes, grilled tomatoes, baked beans, toasted sourdough, and a salad!

The juicy, salty, and slightly garlicky turkey sausage was the obvious standout.

The other breakfast items are also packed with a lot of ingredients. So it’s best if you eat these while ravenous like we did!

When it comes to their pricing, we weren’t surprised that they were relatively pricey. In fact, we believe it’s justified by the amount of ingredients that they incorporate in a single dish.

However, if you’re on a budget and wish for an adequately sized meal, Penny Univeristy’s breakfast menu isn’t for you.

Their delivery service is also a bit inconsistent with the delivery time. So my partner and I really make sure to order from this restaurant on weekends.

Pros

  • Offers a selection of French baked goods, such as viennoiseries, pastries like madeleine, and brioche bread
  • Pastries are soft and tasty

Cons

  • Pricey
  • Delivery service is slow

If you like your breakfast the French way, Maison Kayser is definitely the perfect bakery to place your breakfast order from.

Bread, viennoiseries, pastries, and confectionaries—you name it, they have it.

My coworker is a huge fan of this bakery, and when I asked her what her favourites were, she told me that they were the brioche and the madeleine.

And boy was she right!

The brioche was soft and light, and it had the perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness that I believe would complement any jam or spread.

The madeleine, on the other hand, was sweet and had lemon and vanilla undertones, which made for a perfect accompaniment to my usual home-brewed coffee.

Admittedly, these pastries were a little out of my budget, but I don’t regret trying them. If anything, I’m willing to set aside a budget to order from Maison Kayser again.

The only real downside that my coworker would like you to take note of is that their delivery service is slow, which I can also confirm now that I have ordered from them.
