I chose Supermaids because I wanted an agency that’s both experienced and reliable. 

They’ve been in the business for over 20 years, which gave me some confidence, and with branches in Katong, Bukit Timah, Orchard, and Yishun, it was easy enough to drop by in person.

The biggest reason I picked them is their clean record with MOM. Having zero demerit points suggests they follow the rules closely and treat their helpers properly, making the whole process smoother for everyone involved.

They also run their own training centres, so the helpers aren’t coming in cold, and they provide repatriation assistance if things don’t work out.

However, it’s disappointing that they sometimes don’t respond to my calls. They also don’t have a clear replacement policy, which can end up being costly if a helper leaves before the contract ends.

Best Home Employment Agency has been around since 1996, so they’re one of the more established DH agencies in Singapore. 

From what I’ve seen, they take recruitment seriously, with their team interviewing helpers overseas, checking medical records, and making sure the resumes are detailed.

I like that they’re part of the Advanced Placement Scheme, which allows employers to interview and select helpers already in Singapore. They also handle transfer helpers, so it’s easier to hire someone who’s looking to move on to a new employer.

If paperwork issues come up, they can even provide a temporary helper to tide you over.

Their policy of no service fee for the first three replacements is reassuring, and their free counselling and mediation help smooth out conflicts before they get worse.

That said, their fees aren’t the cheapest, and they sometimes don’t respond to enquiries.

Asia Employment Agency has been around since 1985 and is one of the better options if you’re looking to hire a helper from the Philippines. 

They handle the tricky requirements set by the Philippine government, such as passport renewals and leave of absence requests, making the process less stressful for employers.

Beyond recruitment, they also provide counselling if issues come up between you and your helper. If things still don’t work out, they can arrange a replacement or even handle repatriation.

I also found it interesting that they run a loyalty program that gives returning clients discounts and small perks, which could be useful if you plan to hire more than once.

On the downside, I’ve heard from some clients that some staff can be rude. Payment is also limited to cash, e-transfer, or cheque, with no card option.

I came across Helper Express when I was still looking around for agencies. At first, I didn’t pay much attention since they only started in 2023, but after digging deeper, I realised they actually have quite a few strengths.

The main highlight is their training. They run their own centre in Myanmar, where helpers are taught the basics before coming over. 

Furthermore, they have a specialised elder care program, which is a big plus for families with older parents who need extra support.

Another thing I found useful is their transport service. They handle the entire journey for helpers, making life easier for first-time employers. 

They also provide free consultations so you can talk about your needs before committing.

The biggest downside is aftercare. Some people told me they struggled to get proper replacements or repatriation support when contracts ended early.

Honest Recruiter started in 2020, and to me, they are one of the more straightforward recruitment agencies in Singapore. They’re licensed by MOM and usually bring in helpers from the Philippines, Indonesia, and Myanmar.

What I appreciate is their all-inclusive packages where paperwork, medical checks, training, and even home leave are bundled together so you don’t get surprised by hidden costs. 

They also handle maid insurance and the $5,000 security bond to help ease the process for employers.

Their guarantee is solid with three free replacements within 12 months or a 50% refund of the service fee if no replacement works out. Furthermore, they promise lifetime customer support, which is quite uncommon.

Sadly, they have extra fees if you’re hiring someone you found yourself, such as a $1,250 handling fee for Myanmar and a $1,050 handling fee for the Philippines.
