The 5 Best Macaron Places in Singapore Offering Bite-Sized Bliss

  • Texture and technique - The shell should be crisp yet delicate, with a chewy interior that melts smoothly. No hollow centres or soggy bottoms!
  • Flavour balance - Each bite should have distinct, well-balanced flavours, not overly sweet, with creative but cohesive combinations.
  • Presentation and packaging - Macarons are visual treats. We looked for uniform size, glossy tops, and elegant packaging that makes them perfect for gifting.
  • Value and variety - Prices typically range from S$2.50 to S$4 per piece, so we checked if the quality, portion, and flavour range justify the cost. Bonus points for seasonal flavours or local-inspired twists!

If you’ve ever wondered whether a macaron is worth S$3 a pop, then you’re clearly not eating the right ones. I’ve spent far too many afternoons chasing that perfect crisp-shell-meets-chew-centre balance, and yes, it’s an art form worth the price tag!

The best macaron places in Singapore can be found in French patisseries inside malls and boutique bakeries, crafting local-flavoured gems. From my experience, these are the Lion City’s finest bakers who get it just right.

Annabella Patisseries has elevated the art of pastel temptation in its macarons. They are light, crisp, and filled with smooth ganache that tastes as refined as it looks.

You’ll find them at multiple outlets, including Jewel Changi and Suntec City, conveniently close to MRT stations. Each branch carries elegant gift boxes and chilled displays that make last-minute gifting convenient if you’re commuting.

For me, what makes them worth trying is their range. They offer classics like Earl Grey to locally inspired gems like ondeh-ondeh and Milo Dinosaur. Prices hover around S$2.80 to S$3.20 per piece, which are fair for the quality and presentation.

I find the service consistently pleasant (at least in the Bukit Batok outlet), with staff ready to recommend flavour pairings or gift sets. The boutiques are small but spotless, ideal for a quick indulgence or classy takeaway.

If there’s an issue, it’s that some of the flavours can be overly sweet, and limited seating means it’s not a good place to linger. The seasonal flavours also sell out fast, so timing matters.

Pros

  • Authentic French technique
  • Unique local flavours
  • Gift-ready presentation
  • Wide accessibility

Cons

  • Limited seating
  • Some flavours can be too sweet

Everything was not only gorgeous to look at but also incredibly tasty

We have relished macarons from Annabella Patisserie many times- usually from their pop-up stores at the malls. My favourites are Raspberry lychee, seasalt caramel and mango. We also love buying them as Teacher’s Day gifts. I once ordered Deepavali brownies (for gifting) via home delivery- and the delivery was timely. The products were still intact, thanks to their packaging, and chilled, using ice packs. Recently, I won one of their social media giveaways and received the goodies yesterday. We actually ended up having a little impromptu birthday celebration for our daughter with the treats — it was perfect, and she felt so special! Everything was not only gorgeous to look at but also incredibly tasty. The delivery was timely and perfect.

The Frosted Chick proves that good macarons don’t have to come from a Parisian kitchen to taste divine. Their shells are consistently smooth, crisp, and sandwich fillings that are lush without being cloying.

Located in Tai Seng, the bakery is easy to find, with clear directions from the MRT. This makes it fuss-free for pick-ups, with the space itself being compact and pristine. It’s become my grab-and-go haven.

Try them for their bold variety, as well. I recommend the rose lychee and ondeh-ondeh, all crafted with incredible precision. Prices average a little under S$ per piece, which I find reasonable for the finesse in texture and flavour.

They also offer custom macaron towers and dessert tables for special events like birthdays and weddings. The service has always been quick and professional, with staff who clearly know their sweets.

The downside is that some flavours rotate too often, so favourites can disappear fast. And since it’s mainly a takeaway spot, there’s no dine-in option.

Pros

  • Creative customisation
  • Consistent texture
  • Wide flavour range
  • Convenient location

Cons

  • No dine-in space
  • Frequent menu rotation

Their attention to detail is truly impressive

I’ve been ordering cakes/bakes from The Frosted Chick for many years, and they continue to exceed my expectations every time. Their attention to detail is truly impressive—many of the intricate elements on their bakes are beautifully handmade, adding that extra touch of creativity and quality. While some designs may require plastic decorations, The Frosted Chick takes pride in crafting as many details by hand as possible, which sets them apart.

TWG Tea may be famous for its brews, but its macarons easily hold their own. Each one is infused with premium tea blends, creating flavours that are subtle, aromatic, and unmistakably elegant.

With outlets across the island, from Marina Bay Sands to Takashimaya, it’s hard to miss a TWG boutique. The tea-scented air and gold-accented interiors make every visit feel a little luxurious.

It’s worth trying their refined flavour pairing: think Earl Grey Fortune & Chocolate, Moroccan Mint, or Bain de Roses Tea. Priced around S$2.50 to S$3 per piece, they’re a sophisticated indulgence that justifies the cost.

Expect service to be polished, and you can enjoy your macarons alongside a full afternoon tea set if you dine in. Each branch offers elegant seating and displays that double as a visual feast.

If there’s a con, it’s that the flavours, while exquisite, may feel too subtle for those who prefer bolder profiles. Also, the TWG experience doesn’t come cheap, so expect premium pricing if you choose to dine in.

Pros

  • Tea-infused craftsmanship
  • Islandwide presence
  • Elegant ambience
  • Sophisticated pairings

Cons

  • Premium pricing
  • Subtle flavours may not sit well with more adventurous palates

Their eye-popping colours cheer up my day

I always drop by to get macarons before taking the train back when I’m in the area. Decent selection of tea-based flavours and is affordably priced. Their eye-popping colours cheer up my day.

Though it’s known more for its artisanal chocolate, The Dark Gallery also offers macarons that are just as indulgent. Each one delivers a great bite with a crisp shell, chewy middle, and a ganache so rich it borders on sinful.

You’ll find outlets at Millennia Walk and Funan, both easy to reach via MRT and ideal for a quick dessert detour. The interiors are sleek and moody, matching the brand’s “bean-to-bar” aesthetic.

The shop uses single-origin chocolate in the fillings; think 70% dark, sea salt caramel, and milk chocolate pralines. For this level of craftsmanship and cocoa quality, the S$3 to S$3.50 price tag feels fair.

They also offer tasting platters and hot chocolate pairings, so you can turn a simple snack into a mini chocolate experience. I find the service attentive without being overbearing, so every visit is smooth and satisfying.

However, the flavour range leans heavily on chocolate, so fruit or floral fans might find it limited. Seating is also scarce during peak hours (noon and from 6 to 8 PM), especially at the Funan branch.

Pros

  • Single-origin chocolate fillings
  • Pleasant texture balance
  • Chocolate pairing experience
  • Convenient central locations

Cons

  • Limited flavour range
  • Crowded at noon and evenings

Bonheur Patisserie may be an unpopular choice when it comes to the best macaron places in Singapore, but for me, their handmade creations are a literal art form. They look so delicate and vibrant that you’ll hesitate before taking that first bite.

There’s a cosy shopfront with neatly arranged displays that can make anyone stop and look. I love the shop’s commitment to small-batch production, which results in inventive flavours like yuzu, passionfruit, and salted egg yolk.

Prices start at around S$2.80 to S$3 per piece, with discounts for gift boxes. They also handle custom orders for weddings, birthdays, and corporate gifts, with flawless packaging and punctual delivery.

Do note that the boutique is small with limited seating, so it’s more for a takeaway than lingering for tea.

Pros

  • Artisan craftsmanship
  • Inventive local flavours
  • Custom orders and gift sets

Cons

  • Limited seating
  • Limited seasonal flavour availability

Loved their chocolate macarons

Went by thinking I could just get off the rack macarons, only to realise they were SOLD OUT. The staff were so sweet to still scramble together a box just for my boy’s birthday. So 5 stars for service! And loved their chocolate macarons – hearty!
