Furthermore, she specializes in a wide range of mental health disorders and problems, including anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, grief, and loss.
The mental health experts in Psychology Blossom, including Dr. Dorairaj, are known for their outstanding work ethics. Overall, they provide professional mental health counseling that promotes self-disclosure without the fear of judgment.
However, we just wish this clinic opens its doors to its clients on Sundays. Apart from this, Dr. Dorairaj is an excellent mental health specialist who can provide her clients with the help they need.

Pros
- An experienced mental health expert who received her degree in Australia
- Can accommodate children, teens, and adults
Cons
- Unavailable on Sundays
- Booking an appointment may be a bit challenging
Another exceptionally talented psychologist is Carine Liew. Currently, she works for Mind What Matters, together with a team of mental health specialists.
True to the clinic’s mantra, Liew aims to enhance the mental well-being of her clientele through effective evidence-based services. She has been in practice since 2011 and shows no sign of slowing down.
Remarkably, she completed her master’s degree in Singapore and Australia. Prior to her stint in Mind What Matters, she worked at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) and KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
What’s more striking is Liew was part of the first pediatric obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) center in Singapore. She also served in the Yale-NUS college through an academic appointment.
Another good news is that Liew has in-depth knowledge and experience in conducting cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), schema therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR).
We love how Liew is a genuinely approachable individual who tries her best to help her clients with their mental health problems or disorders.
The only downside we see is the clinic’s location, which is quite easy to miss and hard to find. Apart from that, we commend Liew for a job well done!

Pros
- A brilliant educational and child psychologist
- Registered mental health practitioner both in the United Kingdom and Singapore
- Years of experience with several special education (SPED) schools
Cons
- Only available on Fridays and Saturdays for in-clinic appointments
As an adult, dealing with mental health disorders can already be challenging. Now, just imagine the struggles of a child with special educational learning needs and disabilities in a normal social setup.
Fortunately, Dr. Derek Zheng of Adelphi Psych Medicine Clinic is a reliable educational and child psychologist, with over eight years of experience under his belt.
His previous job in SPED schools involved mental health assessments, interventions, and clinical case management.
Through a scholarship from the National Council of Social Service in Singapore, he finished his doctoral training in educational, child, and adolescent psychology at the University College London.
Dr. Zheng has a keen interest in autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and other learning and intellectual disabilities among children.
What we like most about his approach is he uses a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused brief coaching, project drawings, and therapeutic play approaches.
He allows his clients to openly express themselves and give parents or guardians the best advice.
The only bone to pick we have about Dr. Zheng is his operating hours. We hope he can set appointments on other days apart from Fridays and Saturdays. Prospective clients may find it difficult to book a consultation with him, especially with a busy schedule.

Pros
- A well-known mental health specialist dubbed as “The People’s Psychologist”
- Has over two decades of experience
- A member of Crisis Response Network
Cons
- Unavailable on Sundays
- Long waiting time
Dr. Geraldine Tan of The Therapy Room is probably one of the most popular psychologists in Singapore. In fact, you probably have come across her name once or twice already in some local television shows or magazines.
This charismatic mental health specialist earned her doctorate and master’s degree in California and Singapore, respectively. With over 20 years of experience, she definitely knows the ins and outs of various mental health assessments and therapies.
What’s interesting, however, is she’s an active member of the Crisis Response Network (CRN).
In CRN, Dr. Tan works closely with both locals and expatriates amid a crisis. Together with the other members, she conducts critical incident stress management and assessment for those in need.
On top of all these accomplishments, she prides herself in being well-versed in many techniques, such as choice and reality therapy, CBT, and EMDR. She also uses other methods, including hypnotherapy and color therapy.
Similar to other clinics, however, The Therapy Room is closed on Sundays. Hence, it will sometimes be troublesome to book an appointment with Dr. Tan.

- Accredited by the Asia Pacific Certification Board as a certified substance abuse therapist
Cons

Muhammad Haikal Bin Jamil, the founder of ImPossible Psychological Services, is also among the brightest psychologists in Singapore.
Through the scholarship granted by the National Council of Social Service, Jamil completed his master’s degree at the National University of Singapore. At the beginning of his career, he pursued jobs in hospitals and other social service settings.
This became his training ground where he had the opportunity to meet different types of people who needed mental health support.
In general, Jamil is deeply interested in helping clients who are dealing with depression or anxiety. He also often provides relationship interventions when necessary.
For us, what really sets Jamil apart from the rest is his accreditation from the Asia Pacific Certification Board as a certified substance abuse therapist. That’s something you don’t often see in most psychologists in Singapore.
We’ll also give Jamil plus points for his collaborative therapy approach. This method allows him to bring awareness to his clients and empower them to overcome obstacles.
Unfortunately, Jamil’s psychology clinic doesn’t offer consultations and therapy sessions on Sundays.
