Lotus Yoga is a boutique yoga studio conveniently located at Bijou, next to Pasir Panjang MRT. The studio offers a tranquil and supportive environment for practitioners to unwind, de-stress, and strengthen their bodies and minds.

Whether you’re a beginner just starting out or an experienced yogi looking for advanced challenges, Lotus Yoga caters to a variety of needs. The studio’s focus on personalized instruction and holistic wellness sets it apart, with highly qualified instructors like Teacher Corinna and Master Monesh at the helm.

As an E-RYT200 and YACEP-certified yoga instructor with multiple yoga competition wins, Corinna brings a high level of expertise. She specializes in Hatha yoga, as well as targeted areas like back, shoulder, and hip openings. Her experience as a Reiki healer allows her to offer a more integrated approach to wellness.

With a Bachelor and Master of Yoga, and currently pursuing his PhD in Yogic Science, Master Monesh’s depth of knowledge is unmatched. He specializes in backbends, twists, and yoga therapy, providing a balanced mix of challenge and healing in his sessions.

Lotus Yoga offers a wide array of classes, including group sessions, children’s yoga, personal training, and even yoga therapy for those dealing with specific health concerns. Whether you’re looking for flexibility and strength training or therapeutic yoga to support healing, there’s a class for you.

Specialized classes like backbends and shoulder opening help students work on specific areas, while general Hatha classes offer a comprehensive, all-levels approach.

Beyond physical yoga practice, Lotus Yoga integrates Reiki healing into its offerings. This gives students the opportunity to work on mental and emotional well-being, as well as energetic balance. This approach is particularly beneficial for those who want more than just a physical workout from their practice.

The boutique nature of Lotus Yoga ensures that class sizes remain small, giving students more individualized attention from instructors. This is especially important in yoga, where correct alignment and adjustments can make a significant difference in improving practice and avoiding injury.

For beginners, Lotus Yoga provides a welcoming and safe environment to learn the basics of yoga, with instructors ensuring that students feel supported as they progress. At the same time, more experienced yogis will find plenty of challenges, especially in advanced poses like backbends and twists.

Located beside Pasir Panjang MRT, Lotus Yoga is easily accessible for people living or working in the area, making it convenient to drop in for a session without the hassle of long commutes.

Pros

  • Offers over 20 classes
  • Wide range of beginner-friendly classes
  • Cozy studio
  • Warm and positive instructors

Cons

  • Booking a class is challenging
  • Studio’s front desk is not always friendly

Beginners and seasoned practitioners alike can find something to love in Jal Yoga’s extensive selection of classes.

The studio has over 20 classes, including beginner-friendly Hatha and restorative yoga and intermediate to advanced Nritya and power yoga.

Another noteworthy class is infrared heat yoga. This session is similar to hot yoga, which uses heat to help remove toxins in the body.

Practitioners prefer the infrared setup, as the yoga space isn’t as stuffy and humid as in hot yoga studios. The heat is directed at each user’s mat, not the whole room.

Moreover, Jal Yoga clients said they loved the instructors for their friendly and positive attitude. They shared that they got good vibes from each class thanks to their yoga teachers.

Practitioners also mentioned that they learned the poses easily, thanks to the instructors’ patience.

However, booking a class in Jal Yoga can be the opposite of a positive experience, as slots fill up fast. Some clients said they often ended up on the waitlist just by being late for a few hours after the slots opened.

Another client said the booking challenges made her unlimited access package almost pointless, as she couldn’t score a session slot on the days she liked.

Also, a few commented that the studio’s customer desk was not as stellar as the classes and instructors, saying they had to deal with a snobbish staff.

Pros

  • Mom- and child-friendly classes
  • Small class size for more focused guidance
  • Warm and gentle instructors

Cons

  • Studio isn’t spacious
  • Non-central location

New and soon-to-be moms can continue their yoga journey in Bliss Shala.

This home studio holds prenatal and postnatal yoga classes, intending to elevate each practitioner’s physical condition and overall well-being.

One client taking up prenatal yoga shared that sessions at Bliss Shala were calm and peaceful.

She said that instructors made it so the group could practice mindful breathing and movement undisturbed, resulting in uplifted moods and a feeling that they bonded with their babies more.

She also appreciated that the studio provided an exclusive, tight-knit experience by limiting the class size (usually up to 9 persons). She believed that the small group helped highlight yoga’s meditative quality.

But the class size limit also means that sessions fill up fast, so expect the possibility that you’ll join the studio’s waitlist several times.

Also, as a home studio, Bliss Shala can be too small for practitioners who prefer airy and bright-lit spaces.

Furthermore, its Ang Mo Kio location might be out of the way for some people.

Pros

  • Comfy lounge and reading area
  • Sufficient showers and lockers for convenience
  • Gentle instructors

Cons

  • Waiting for your next class sessions can take weeks
  • Only a single branch in Singapore

Few yoga studios provide as much comfort and convenience as Our Yoga Place.

Beyond its extensive class selection, the studio has a comfy lounge and a library where clients can wait for their sessions.

Customers said staying in such a cozy space helped relieve their stress, which was an excellent preamble to the uplifting yoga sessions afterward.

Showers and lockers are also available, which customers coming from their day jobs appreciate.

They further shared that the classes were engaging, thanks to knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging instructors.

Many clients new to yoga said they loved the neck-and-shoulders and back care sessions, as they relieved muscle tension.

However, we are a little disappointed that Our Yoga Place has only one location in Singapore. We really wish there were more studios as comfortable as this one.

The studio also has a few instructors (seven of them) relative to the range of classes (16 types) available. Some clients experienced waiting for weeks before their next session due to the packed schedule.

Pros

  • Bright and airy studio
  • Intensive lessons for serious yoga practitioners
  • Kind and positive instructors
  • Online classes are available

Cons

  • Not for beginners
  • Classes aren’t flexible

Nitha Priyan is the right choice for practitioners looking to level up their yoga skills.

The studio’s Joy in the Body course provides intensive lessons that help deepen your knowledge of the practice, whether you’re an enthusiast or a teacher-in-training.

Yoga practitioners who tried the course appreciate its structured setup. They said the system helped them feel they were progressing.

The clients also looked forward to each week’s lessons, as they followed a weekly theme.

You might find the school intimidating for its comprehensive lessons, though. But interestingly, instructors made it so all their students are challenged but not hampered in their learning.

One client also mentioned that apart from its kind instructors, the studio’s design also helps learners thrive. Plenty of natural light pours into the studio, and its space gives plenty of room to breathe.

Another benefit Nitha Priyan offers is its online lessons, perfect for busy people who can’t come to the studio due to obligations.

However, Nitha Priyan’s lessons aren’t beginner-friendly. The school requires that you have at least six months of consistent practice to keep up with the course’s advanced poses.

And because the lessons are structured, learning is not as flexible as what studios offer, where you can come in for a session anytime.

Pros

The instructors exude professionalism and expertise, making each session a delightful journey towards serenity.

Upon entering Canvass, we were greeted by a space that seamlessly blends tranquility and elegance. The studio’s design evokes a sense of calm, instantly preparing one for the practice ahead. However, they can get fully booked pretty quickly. We suggest booking a reservation ahead of time.

Pros

  • Extensive range of yoga styles
  • Offers early morning classes
  • Accessible location

Cons

  • Possible overcrowding in the studio
  • Studio’s front desk isn’t always helpful

Platinum Yoga’s over 30 classes make it a haven for yoga enthusiasts of all levels.

It has beginner-friendly Hatha and meditation sessions, Ashtanga for intermediate and advanced learners, and training courses for wanna-be yoga teachers.

More experienced clients mentioned the studio’s yoga combinations as favorites, specifically the cardio-focused HIIT Yoga and the tension-relieving YogaLates (a mix of yoga and Pilates).

Clients with day jobs also love that Platinum Yoga offers early morning and lunch-break classes, as the schedules align with their availability.

The studio’s instructors are just as impressive as its wide selection of classes and schedules.

Many of the learners we interviewed describe their yoga teachers as passionate and fun, plus they put just the right amount of challenge to keep sessions engaging.

However, a few clients pointed out that the Ang Mo Kio studio tends to be overcrowded during peak hours, as it’s one of the easiest-to-access outlets (it’s near the AMK MRT station).

This overcrowding may sometimes defeat yoga’s core purpose, which is to elevate mindfulness with one’s body.

And as the studio is often busy, you might encounter a grumpy or overwhelmed front desk.
