Restaurants release limited-time menus to celebrate Chinese New Year 2025
Chinese New Year will fall on January 29, 2025, and restaurants in Singapore have already released their exclusive menus just for this holiday.
This is my favourite part of the annual celebration. As much as I enjoy cooking my own food with my loved ones, sometimes, I do love eating out and seeing restaurants’ twists on beloved Chinese dishes.
To properly celebrate the Year of the Snake, be sure to stop by or order from these restaurants!

Located inside the National Gallery, Yan Restaurant is pulling out all the stops to celebrate this year’s Chinese New Year. It currently has six specially curated set menus, a few a la carte options, and even feasts that you can take home!
Go all out on the Golden Treasures, the restaurant’s most extravagant set. The standout dish from this set has to be Prosperity Yellowtail Fish and Sakura shrimps and crispy fried vermicelli that’s crackling with peanut oil.
If you’re celebrating at home, order the crispy roast suckling pig. Just thinking about the crispy skin and the juicy meat inside has my mouth watering!

Chatterbox’s CNY set menu features the traditional ingredients you normally find in hawker cuisine: fish, vegetables, and zesty sauces. The restaurant puts a festive twist to these ingredients, and the results are bold flavours and eye-catching plating.
I’m in awe of how much food the menu has. There are plates with fried prawns, braised sea cucumber and abalone, and deep-fried trout. The menu also has Mandarin chicken rice, which is my favourite. The rich savoury flavour is to die for!
Ordering bak kut teh during the Chinese New Year celebration is a must as well. The aromatic herbal broth and the tender pork ribs…My stomach is already grumbling!

Tablescape’s offerings for the Chinese New Year are on the takeaway menu, and they look absolutely scrumptious, so even if you’re celebrating at home, you can still have a grand feast.
The Seafood Yu Sheng is a must-order; the dish is literally shaped like a snake! It’s made with grilled octopus, buttery lobster, and sashimi of maguro and salmon. Then, it’s topped with golden crackers, caviar, and edible gold leaf. Extravagant, indeed!

At Ya Ge, you can feast like a monarch this Chinese New Year season. The Success Set Menu is big enough to feed up to 10 people, and it’s quite a luxurious spread too!
I quite like the braised abalones with almond black bean curd and the double-boiled chicken with bird’s nest.
Another star of the show is the crispy golden eel and yellowtail yu sheng, which is made to look like a snake. The crispy eel skin, yellowtail, and shredded vegetables are drenched in a passionfruit kumquat dressing, so every spoonful is a symphony of sweet, fruity, and savoury.

This restaurant’s New Year special is a buffet as well, so you can indulge in a wide array of dishes. Be sure to get the Australian ribeye, which has been slow-cooked so it’s perfectly tender and succulent.

Dao by Dorsett AMTD Singapore is going all out to usher in a new lunar year. Not only does it have a special menu (both set and a la carte), but it also has a dinner buffet.
The Fortune Set Menu features traditional dishes with a contemporary twist. It starts with a Mandarin orange salad, and for your main dish, you’ll have stir-fried nian gao.
The dinner buffet is the ultimate treat, and you better mark your calendars and book your reservations because it’s only available for one night. I hear there will be a few carving stations of all sorts of meat, so you can indulge like a king!
Also, if you’re dining with at least six full-paying adults, you’ll get a complimentary yu sheng. What a nice way to sweeten the festivities!
