Just Rent Lah’s trusty drone and its wide range of photography and videography equipment attracted us not only for its sizable selection but also for its rental price.

Its lightweight yet powerful DJI Mini 3 comes with a rental fee beginning at $70, which we think is not bad considering the gadget’s high selling price. 

We were also delighted that Gimbal stabilizers for our ground shots were available for similarly reasonable rates.

What impressed us further was Just Rent Lah’s seamless booking system. We didn’t have any difficulty securing the equipment and using it during our schedule.

We also appreciate the helpful tips the friendly renters offered readily during our drone shoot.

That said, we think it’s a bit of a downside that the company rents only one drone model as of writing. If we weren’t lucky, we might have waited several months before we could use the gear.

There’s also the possibility of equipment failure, given that the gear was bought a few years ago.

Renticulous’ extensive list of rentable DJI drones from the Spark to the Mini 3 Pro had us swooning. 

We particularly appreciate the company for providing complete information about each product on its webpage and further providing clarity about the gear when we called them. 

That said, we didn’t manage to rent our desired model (DJI Mavic 2 Zoom Zoom Fly More Combo), as it was booked for months already. 

We realized that for this company, we should secure a booking slot way earlier than the scheduled shoot to ensure we get the model we like. 

Renticulous had several in-demand drones, too, which made it a bit challenging to rent at the last minute. 

Fortunately, the company allows booking for up to a year in advance.

The alternative model we got (DJI Mavic 2 Pro Fly More Combo) was functional. We liked that this one was lightweight and easy to fly, yet can capture scenes in gorgeous 4k quality.

That said, the model was a bit pricey to rent. 

We think you’d like Skyshot if you want professionals to use drones in your place during filming. 

We say this not only because of the perceived convenience but also because the company has proven its competence before.

Previous clients we interviewed generally praised Skyshot for its high-grade gear and professionalism. The captivating aerial shots we previewed from them are nothing short of extraordinary, too.

The company uses high-spec DJI drones and other videography solutions (helicopter filming, crane, and tethered drone). 

Skyshot’s range of capturing techniques is impressive, and we believe the quality of the finished film is in part thanks to the company’s willingness to go beyond just drones.

That said, hiring pro drone operators and a production team means a lot of money. For that reason, Skyshot is best used by businesses that want to elevate their promotional materials.

If you’re a traveler or a hobbyist, renting a drone to operate yourself is the more practical way to go.

J Rental Centre’s system of pooling gear owners to rent out their equipment is innovative. 

But more importantly, we like that this type of company helps make high-spec camera gear accessible to more people. 

After all, the lower overhead costs (as the company has no office) and diverse selection of gear from multiple owners help keep the rental prices at reasonable levels.

We also love that the company made it so you can rent the equipment even beyond office hours. It allowed us to collect our rental drone two hours after closing time!

That said, the drones available for rent through the company are ever-changing, making it a bit challenging to book them. Some clients told us that there were long periods when the equipment was unavailable.

We think there is also the risk of the drone not satisfying other people’s standards. 

For instance, the one we rented was an older model. It was functional and yielded great video files, but other renters might want to use gears with higher specs. 

Avetics Global is another company that you can rely on if you prefer professionals to operate drones. 

The company also has a long list of high-spec drones, which are sure to produce spectacular photos and videos.

That said, this service provider is a bit different, as it offers more than stunning aerial shots.

Clients we interviewed, mostly business owners, also enjoy other benefits that come with using drones. These include building inspections and data gathering, which are helpful for construction project managers.

Apart from drone videography and other related services, we love that Avetics Global is also a drone dealer and a training school for flying the gear. 

Thanks to that, we can see the company as a convenient one-stop shop (minus the direct drone rental).

That said, Avetics Global has pretty expensive service fees, making them a practical choice only if you have a big enough budget.
