Pros
- Ideal for clients without basic IP knowledge
- Usually responsive
- Has a proven track record
Cons
- Might be too busy at times
- Not focused on IP litigation
We recently had the pleasure of engaging Yuen Law for our intellectual property needs, and we must say, they’ve left an indelible mark in our minds.
Their services are nothing short of impeccable. From start to finish, they exhibited a level of professionalism that rivals even the finest tailored suits.
Efficiency is the hallmark of a successful firm, and Yuen Law certainly doesn’t disappoint. They navigated the labyrinth of intellectual property regulations with the grace of a skilled tightrope walker, leaving us in awe.
Our expectations were not just met, but exceeded, and they did it with a level of efficiency that would make a Swiss watchmaker green with envy.
When it comes to quality, Yuen Law doesn’t just raise the bar; they define a whole new stratosphere. Their attention to detail is so impeccable that we could spot the difference between a semicolon and a comma in our patent application.
Their commitment to excellence is not just commendable; it’s awe-inspiring.
As for cost, we were initially concerned that such a prestigious firm might require us to mortgage the office coffee machine. To our pleasant surprise, Yuen Law not only delivers top-notch services, but they also do it at a cost that is more budget-friendly than we expected.
They’ve managed to strike a delicate balance between quality and affordability that’s nothing short of astonishing.
However, they can get busy during peak days.We advise booking them ahead of time.

Pros
- Uses modern approach to legal consultations
- Offers free initial consultation
- Reachable via Whatsapp
Cons
- Office is often busy
- Reports of delayed or zero responses
Apart from its legal services, we see Tembusu Law as a standout firm for fully utilizing modern technology to reach its clients more easily.
For instance, availing of a free consultation is easy since you can talk to the lawyers via chat.
The company also uses software like Dropbox and LawSwitch to streamline its services.
However, know that Tembusu Law specializes in civil litigation, including litigation related to IP. Clients who want more in-depth guidance on the basics of IP law might need to look for a less aggressive approach.
There are also some instances when clients receive delayed replies or none at all when they availed of the free consultation.
This is a bit disappointing, especially after the client already supplied their information to the firm.

Pros
- Multiple branches across Singapore
- Ideal for fledgling business owners
- Legal services include Muslim law
- Open daily
Cons
- Office is often busy
- Delayed responses possible
We recommend IRB Law to clients who are seeking corporate law assistance while looping in IP concerns related to their businesses.
The company offers a complete legal package that can assist clients in starting their businesses, with intellectual property as one of the areas covered.
In other words, the clients will be able to gain insight and legal help in protecting their business logos, creations, and patents right from the get-go.
We also like IRB Law’s diversity, as the company also includes Muslim law and estate planning in its legal services.
The downside here is that the firm is quite well known (especially its branch in Jalan Sultan), so expect a bit of waiting time when you visit in person.
You might also want to look for a backup firm, as IRB Law sometimes falls short of responding quickly to urgent cases due to the company being too busy.
4. PKWA Law Practice

Pros
- Senior industry player
- In-depth knowledge about litigation services
- Partners with big corporations
Cons
- Often busy
- Slightly slow response time
PKWA Law Practice is impressive for its over 30 years of experience alone, as it shows that the company has what it takes to stand the test of time.
Better yet, the company particularly excels in litigation services, and the team includes intellectual property transactions in its areas of expertise.
That means clients who will hire one of PKWA’s senior lawyers for their IP concerns will be working with a competent one.
That said, we advise our more tech-savvy readers to be prepared if they want to work with PKWA.
The firm is not the most technologically advanced company out there, so clients who are used to automation may not like the slightly tedious processes observed.
PKWA’s office is also visited often, so manage your expectations if you’re planning to walk in.

Pros
- Focused on IP law
- Usually responsive
- Accommodating and helpful to clients
Cons
- Not a fully locally owned company
- Doesn’t offer diverse services like other firms
Clients who are looking for a firm that focuses on intellectual property law can check out what Schweiger & Partners has to offer.
We love that the international nature of this company makes it a go-to for not only local companies seeking IP lawyers but also foreign clients, diversifying the people protected by property law.
We also like that the firm supports small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and start-up companies in Singapore, as these businesses are often the ones who need legal assistance concerning IP rights.
The only downside we see if we hire Schweiger & Partners is that we can’t take advantage of other legal services, unlike when we choose larger firms.
The company is also partly foreign-owned, which some clients who want to support local firms might not prefer.
