Rub shoulders with success by attending the best massage schools in Singapore!

Longevity: We checked registries such as Companies House Singapore to ensure only massage schools operating for at least 10 years were included here. LinkedIn profiles and CVs were also utilised, the latter determining the faculty’s experience.

Qualification: Service listings and the databases of regulatory bodies (like CIBTAC and ITEC) helped identify which schools offer nationally or internationally certified courses

Reputation: Graduates and potential employees were interviewed to assess a school’s industry standing, favouring those whose alumni tend to find jobs more easily. Entrants with larger networks earned bonus points.

Teaching Style & Range: To confirm a school’s teaching staff is hands-on, we examined service listings or curricula, conducted interviews, and read feedback. Scoring higher were options that offer courses across various modalities.

Pricing: Finally, value for money was gauged by comparing ROI against a program’s total cost. Schools that stay within Singapore’s pricing range were prioritised, and those with specials or discounts received extra marks.

Massage places like these have remained uber-popular for years. A couple of them are even past two decades old and are still attracting strong demand.

It’s what sparked a friend of mine’s interest in becoming a masseuse or running a spa in Singapore. The problem was that she didn’t have the right skills and certifications at the time.

She later resolved that problem by attending a reputable massage school that produces job-ready massage therapists. You’ll find it below, along with the other top schools she explored.

International Sports Academy (ISA) can set you up for work opportunities globally. We mean that they have strong connections, having been established since 2003.

The school’s 42-hour Basic Sports Massage certificate is also recognised worldwide, and so is its advanced counterpart, spanning 28 hours.

Both are flexible in terms of setup and lesson delivery. A course may be completed over 3 weekends or 6 days, with on-site and online classes as the formats.

The problem is there’s no alternative beyond sports massage. Their competitors teach more modalities.

A bigger issue lies in ISA’s customer service, as a few past students claimed responses weren’t exactly quick.

Good thing most praised the actual training, which is heavy on practicality, lived experiences, fun practices, and one-on-one consults.

Even better, students get access to a network of local industry partners, such as Active SG and Fitness First

Pros

  • Specialises in sports massage
  • Has basic and advanced courses
  • Globally recognised certificates
  • Has several local sports partners

Cons

  • Limited service range
  • Doesn’t always reply fast

Training is relatively cheaper at the 2005-founded ProTherapist Academy. The 21-hour Swedish and sports massage courses, for example, only cost S$680, whereas other providers charge a thousand or more.

And yes, that means you can enrol in multiple courses here, 8 to be exact. They’re MLD, infant massage, postnatal massage, reflexology, trigger point therapy, holistic massage, and the two above.

ITEC has approved some of the programs, so the credibility boost for completing one goes beyond Singapore.

We love that it’s not an old, lifeless spot either. Students train in three modern rooms (28.8 sqm–37.4 sqm) and take breathers in the balcony or pantry.

The downside is you must schedule properly, as some courses (like the sports massage one) require face-to-face attendance per session. Most schools integrate online learning into their programs to help ease the workload for students with other responsibilities.

Paying extra for materials like towels can be a hassle, too.

What’s not a bother is the school’s location. It’s less than 5 minutes from the Telok Ayer and Raffles Place MRT stations.

Pros

  • Operating for over two decades
  • Offers multiple courses
  • Accessible pricing and location
  • Up-to-date facilities

Cons

  • Some courses have no online component
  • Not every material is provided by the school

Very professional

It was indeed a great learning experience at ProTherapist Academy (PTA). I just finished my Swedish massage course. All the massage techniques were taught to us in a very professional manner. For both theory and practice, guidance was provided at every level of learning. The trainer Ms. Cynthia has great knowledge and passion towards teaching. I surely recommend to get your massage course from PTA.

Understandable and enjoyable

I have attended Post Natal, Lymphatic and Hand and Foot Reflexology massage in 2023 at ProTherapist Academy. Both trainers , Wati and Kelly have made the course easy to understand and enjoyable. They shared a lot of their experiences and I gained a lot of knowledge during my course. I strongly recommend the school as they have good trainers with years of experience.

A major boon of choosing Beauty Forever Learning Hub is having access to multiple certifications. The main ones are ITEC, CIDESCO, and WSQ.

Do note, however, that only the diplomas in sports, aromatherapy, reflexology, holistic, and lymphatic draining massage are certified.

The silver lining is that you can still obtain globally recognised qualifications by taking complementary beauty courses. Most are supported by bilingual teachers, so language barrier is rarely an issue.

Another perk is the school’s support for subsidies, such as SkillsFuture and UTAP. That’s good news for anyone looking to lower financial pressure.

Beauty Forever’s classroom size is on a larger scale, too. Occupying a total area of 340.68 m², it can house up to 82 individuals.

There’s a waiting period before a diploma gets issued, though. One student, for instance, waited several months.

Pros

  • Has internationally recognised courses
  • Holistic course selection
  • Larger than most schools in total area
  • Strong funding support

Cons

  • Not every massage course is certified
  • Delayed diploma release

Highly recommended

My teacher, Roy, who teaches Holistic Massage, has been very helpful and supportive throughout my learning journey. Studying at Beauty Forever Learning Hub Singapore has been such a wonderful experience — everyone there is so kind and friendly, including the other students of Teacher Roy. Alhamdulillah, I have successfully completed my ITEC Diploma in Holistic Massage with Teacher Roy. I highly recommend him to anyone who is interested in learning holistic massage.

Around for 20-plus years, the SOHA Institute is a time-proven choice for learning about sports and complementary therapies. Among its sought-after courses are those for sports massage, acupressure, TCM meridian work, and reflexology.

Its standout feature, though, is the inclusion of Tuina massage training, a Chinese medical massage best known for relieving chronic pain and balancing the body’s qi (energy)

You also get extra breathing room with scheduling. The school’s learning formats include online self-paced modules, in-person classes, hybrid sessions, webinars, and masterclasses.

One trade-off is that you’ll be competing for slots. SOHA tends to be in high demand, so we suggest making reservations quickly.

The majority of courses are also designed for long-term learning (some require a 6-month completion period), which may turn off people who need fast-track certifications.

Pros

  • Operating for over two decades
  • Has a course on Tuina massage
  • Flexible learning formats
  • Strong focus on sports and complementary therapies

Cons

  • Not ideal for students who need certifications ASAP
  • Limited slots

He is very knowledgeable

I recently completed the Diploma in Holistic Massage at SOHA Institute, and it was a truly rewarding experience. Mr. Khoo’s teaching methods are excellent, both in theory and practical training. He is very knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about sharing his expertise with students. Throughout the course, he carefully guided us on what therapists should look out for during client consultations, as well as providing hands-on practice and demonstrations. His guidance gave me the confidence to perform Holistic Swedish Massage professionally and safely. One of the most valuable lessons I gained from Mr. Khoo was the understanding of anatomical body mechanics. We learned how different body systems work and connect with each other, such as the circulatory system, cardiovascular system, lymphatic system, and muscle functions. This knowledge not only helps us become better therapists but also helps us understand how to maintain good health. I would also like to thank Ms. Kim, the administrator, for coordinating the classes smoothly and ensuring everything was well organized. Lastly, I’m grateful to my wonderful batchmates. Everyone was cooperative, helpful, and supportive. Even during challenging lessons, we learned together while enjoying the journey. I highly recommend SOHA Institute to anyone interested in the wellness industry, professional massage therapy, or simply learning how to care for loved ones through holistic massage.

The course was well-structured

I recently completed the Holistic Massage Diploma course, and it was a truly rewarding experience. The course was well-structured, balancing solid theory with plenty of hands-on practice, which really helped build confidence and real-world skills.

Mr Khoo was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate about holistic therapy. They took time to explain techniques clearly, corrected posture and pressure thoughtfully, and were always open to questions. I also appreciated the emphasis on professionalism, body mechanics, and client care and not just all about massage techniques. The learning environment was supportive and calm, making it easy to focus and grow at my own pace. By the end of the course, I felt well-prepared and confident to apply what I’ve learned in the public. I would highly recommend this diploma course to anyone serious about learning holistic massage, whether you’re starting fresh or looking to deepen your existing skills.

While Kenko Academy technically opened in 2007, its vision has been around since 1991, courtesy of its association with Kenko Wellness.

The vision we’re talking about is making sure every student is geared for success, evidenced by courses and assessments that focus on experiential learning methods.

Each program is comprehensive and WSQ-certified. For instance, the Certificate in Massage Therapy course teaches about consultation techniques and pre- or post-treatment activities, not just application.

Kenko Academy’s Level 3 Diploma in Holistic Massage (ITEC-certified) program takes it further by including business legislation and marketing lessons.

Unfortunately, it’s not meant for everyone. You need at least two years of working experience to be seated, on top of being 30 years old.

What’s more, only three massage-specific courses are offered, and one of those is the Certificate in Massage Therapy program’s Mandarin version.

Pros

  • Operating for nearly two decades
  • Strong funding support
  • Well-rounded course design
  • Offers classes in Mandarin and English

Cons

  • Not every course is for beginners
  • Limited course selection

Interesting and fun

The class is very interesting and fun!
