The Best Comedy Clubs in Singapore That Have Never Failed to Lift My Mood
People say that laughter is the best medicine, but I didn’t realise just how true that saying was until this past year. I was having a hard time with all the pressure and family emergencies, and a good friend started bringing me to comedy shows. Let me tell you, that’s the best thing anyone has ever done for me in recent months!
My favourite part is when they do crowd work because it reminds me that other people have the same worries, and they’re getting by with their lives through humour.
Singapore doesn’t have a lot of comedy clubs, but the ones I’ve been to have been phenomenal. So, if you’re down in the dumps, check out these amazing venues!

The Lemon Stand Comedy Club is my favourite of the comedy clubs I’ve visited so far, and it’s also the one that I’ve visited the most.
The lineup is the main reason why I love this club. Sure, it’s always changing, which some people might not like because they want to know who they’re going to see perform, but personally, that’s exactly part of the charm.
It also helps that the club works hard to ensure that they have a diverse lineup of comedians every week. From my experience, the comedians here have their own unique approach to comedy; some like to do observational comedy, while others focus on aggressive humour or dark comedy.
There are even comedians who are just technically telling a story about something that happened in their life, but the way they deliver that story (e.g., over-dramatic delivery or usage of hyperbole) is what makes things funny.
This diversity when it comes to the lineup ensures that there’s a show for everyone.
Another thing that I love about this club is that they often host open mic nights as well. As much as I love watching established comedians, I do want to support upcoming ones. Plus, who knows—I might actually find a new favourite comedian during a random open mic night!
Oh, and food and drinks are available here. Some shows already come with free snacks (usually popcorn), which is always appreciated. If you want more, feel free to order treats like chicken nuggets, chicken fingers, onion rings, and fries. They even have more filling dishes like sandwiches!
For drinks, they have many options. They have classic liquor like rum, gin, vodka, and beer. If you’re feeling fancy, go with wine instead!
The one downside I can think of is that this club is adults-only. You have to be at least 18 to watch a show here. This isn’t the place to have a bonding moment with your kids.
Great diversity of comedians
“Had a super good experience at The Lemon Stand! Went in with no expectations bc I’ve never been to standup so I was pleasantly surprised from the moment we entered the place and were warmly welcomed by Lemon who brought us to our seats. Lemon was so enthusiastic you could see the passion in standup in him, he hyped us up before and in between each set which I really appreciated bc the transitions felt seamless. And I liked that there was a great diversity of comedians. My bf and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, thank you for the experience (and free popcorn), highly recommend!”

An entertaining experience
“Went for a night out for my son’s birthday as he enjoys the comedy scene when we visit a new place. Since we arrived early, we were able to get choice front row seats. There were a good enough selection of drinks and mostly light cocktail food. So if you prefer more substantial food choices, it may be advisable to already have eaten before coming to the show. Our host, Lemon, was friendly and accommodating and even gave my son a free “roast” on stage with a shot of whisky, which were quite nice. Our 2 hours there passed by quickly as we enjoyed a variety of local and overseas talents performing. The format was quite engaging and fast paced and I felt that the crowd, which were mostly local residents, also enjoyed the show. Stand up comedy always gives great insight to daily life and some issues that goes unsaid to avoid being offensive or impolite. We left not only entertained but with better appreciation of Singaporean daily life and culture. Overall, highly recommend checking them out, especially if you enjoy stand up comedy.”

Comedy Masala is one of the—if not the—most popular comedy clubs in Singapore, so of course, it was one of the first ones I checked out with my friend. After my first visit, I immediately understood the hype, which is why I love coming back here.
The lineup of comedians performing here is elite. This club has hosted established comedians like Collin Christopher and Jo Hann, but even more impressive is the fact that it’s the go-to venue for renowned international comedians who are on tour! Some of the ones I’ve watched are shows by David Rose and Karunesh Talwar.
Since Comedy Masala shares a space with the restaurant Hero’s, you can treat yourself to a good meal anytime during the show. The menu is full of amazing options.
I’m usually good with just a pasta dish (my favourite is the arrabbiata chicken), but if I’m with a group, we usually get the kebab platter, which comes with chicken kebab, cocktail samosas, tandoori chicken, and fries. So filling!
However, one thing that frustrates me is that it’s only open once a week—on Tuesdays, from 8 pm onward. And sometimes, their shows get fully booked pretty fast, so I can’t attend.
Fun and enjoyable comedians
“Comedy Masala is one of the few intimate joints to enjoy stand-up on a night out. Diverse comedians featured from around the world make it fun and enjoyable for different audiences. Kudos to Umar and the Team for keeping this tradition alive. This is truly a treasure that should be preserved. The world can use a whole lot more fun and laughter!”

High energy and great experience
“I’m so happy I got to catch Tom Deacon through Comedy Masala. The host Devin was high energy and great, getting the crowd involved and ready to cheer and clap. Tom’s set had me laughing so hard my face hurt! Big thank you to Comedy Masala for an awesome evening.”

At East Coast Comedy, the element of surprise is the name of the game, and that’s why I love coming here. No two shows are the same because there’s a different lineup and host every night.
Don’t worry, because the comedians they have on rotation are amazing. So far, I’ve seen local stars and household names like Fakkah Fuzz, Sharul Channa, and Prem John bring the house down, but the club has also invited up-and-coming comedians that I’d never heard of until the show.
And if you’re an aspiring comedian, you’re in luck because every month, they host open mic nights. This is your chance to show off your chops!
This club is intent on having as many comedians as possible, which is why you can expect to have around seven performers per night. This setup draws in mixed reactions from attendees.
I personally don’t mind it, but others think it would be better if there were fewer comedians and longer sets. I can understand what they’re trying to say; the comedians may rush their set, and as a result, the punchline may not land as well as it should have.
But on a more positive note, I love this club’s vibe. The layout of the room is pretty simple—just a dais, tables and chairs, and lights. Some people might not like the lack of fancy furniture, but I like it because it makes the place feel cosier.
The food and drink options here are pretty limited, though. Just a few alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are available. So, if you’re planning to catch a set here, I recommend eating a hearty dinner beforehand.
Cozy venue, a real gem
“What an awesome night! Great comedians with plenty of crowd interaction in a cozy venue. I’ve been to comedy clubs all over the world, and this one’s a real gem—lots of local, young talent. Keep it going, guys!”

Talk Cock Comedy is Blu Jaz Café’s very own comedy club, which I was very thrilled to learn about some time ago. I already love dining at this restaurant, and now I can enjoy stand-up comedy here as well? That’s a win for me!
The interesting thing about this club is that it focuses solely on new comedians. The other clubs I’ve been to prefer to have experienced comedians running the show, but here, every night is an open mic night, encouraging aspiring comedy stars to take the spotlight.
I really like this setup because, like I said, I love supporting new faces. Plus, I like to be surprised.
Booking your own show here is also straightforward, which is good news to anyone who wants to try their shot at stand-up comedy. Just send a request to [email protected] and they’ll arrange a slot for you.
The only downside here is that the shows aren’t on a regular basis. They just host a show whenever they want. Plus, this restaurant has many other live events, so it’s possible that the comedy event gets pushed back to a later date.
Great ambience
“One of my fave places to go either for drinking or dinner or both. I love the ambience, the creativity of its surroundings and music. Not so fan of their service, either slow or doesn’t have welcoming staff. They offer varieties of food and quality wise, good one. Presentation-wise, good as well. Portion of both drinks and food – acceptable. Price – good as well. So overall happy to recommend and must visit not only this restaurant but also the area itself as this considered tourist spot in Singapore.”
