I chose Sky Garden Sentosa for my wedding, and to this day, I recommend this venue to everyone. This is located on a rooftop, so depending on the time of day, you can enjoy an expansive view of the sea or of the golden sunset painting the sky. 

The venue is surrounded by lush greenery as well, so the vibe is very much a garden tucked away in the country. That screams romantic to me.

Another thing I like about this venue is how versatile it is. For my wedding, I went with a whimsical theme, so there were a lot of colourful flowers and decorations, but I know others opted for something rustic or a simple classic. Anything goes here!

Plus, this venue comes with both indoor and outdoor spaces. You can use both spaces however you want. Some people use the indoor room for extra guests, while I had it as a private lounge (where I sat and relaxed before the ceremony).

The one downside to this venue is that it’s ideal only for intimate weddings. At most, you can have 160 guests. 

The prices are also pretty high. They can run somewhere between S$178 and S$225 (Monday to Thursday) or S$189 and S$237 (Friday to Sunday). And that rate is per person. 

Beautiful venue

Tiara Waterfront is a popular venue for all sorts of special events, but most people book it for weddings. And I can see why: this venue offers a comprehensive wedding package, so everything is taken care of! 

First, you get access to both the waterfront and the alfresco area, and then you’ll also have your own bridal room. The venue can provide other things as well, such as wedding decorations, a buffet menu, and a sound system. 

I also like that they have perks for Malay couples. In particular, there’s a prayer or musollah area for them. A money box is also available.

In our interviews, the food was often praised. Past clients told me that the dishes served in the buffet were mouthwatering. One woman said that the lamb shank was phenomenal—very tender and flavorful! 

However, one complaint I heard was that the staff wasn’t forthcoming with the package rates; they insisted that the couple come down to the venue first. Plus, sometimes, when someone books an appointment, the staff doesn’t respond immediately.

What makes 1-Host stand out from the rest is the fact that it has various lovely venues for you to choose from. They have garden settings, rooftop venues, and even heritage landmarks like the Alkaff Mansion! 

All venues are pretty sizeable, too; a few can accommodate up to 400 people, while the others are in the 100–200-guest range. Each venue has its own facilities, like projector screens, a sound system, and a private bridal room. 

While you can book wedding services elsewhere, 1-Host offers them as well. Whether you just want an event planner/manager or the full shebang (e.g., DJs/live bands, wedding favours, and catering), they can do that for you.

Former clients also have good things to say about some of the coordinators, especially Celest and Joan. One told me that their planner and the venue manager were attentive and always ready to assist. As such, their whole wedding went off without a hitch.

That said, some of the coordinators are not as good, according to former clients. These coordinators were usually slow to respond and sometimes didn’t communicate at all, which is frustrating.

Stunning venue with a helpful team

The staff were also very attentive as they took the initiative to shift our floral decorations after the solemnisation event to the main dining area upstairs. Beautiful setting

Grand Dahlia is another great wedding venue for Malay couples. It comes with a pelamin (a wedding dais that’s the centrepiece of any Malay wedding), but there are also other Malay ceremony setups available. 

People love that this venue already comes with an all-inclusive package for weddings, and they’re all reasonably priced as well. So, you don’t need to worry about the decorations or even the catering. The venue will take care of that! 

It’s also worth noting that the venue is pretty big. It can host up to 300 guests! 

Another thing I like about this venue is its accessibility, especially in terms of public transportation. It’s located near an MRT station, which has good bus connectivity, so guests won’t have a problem coming here. 

In terms of downsides, some clients complained about the weak air conditioning here. Many of the guests ended up sweating.

I love that Casa Bayu has everything you need to have a memorable wedding. Aside from providing the venue itself, you can also book other services here, such as catering, bridal hair and makeup, the wedding cake, and personalised stationery.

Clients commend the way the venue is organised on the day of the wedding. The layout of the tables is great, which makes the whole space look bigger than it actually is. The layout also makes moving very convenient for the guests. 

People love the venue’s emcee as well. They’re lively and engaging, so the event has a nice flow, and the guests are incredibly entertained. 

The wedding coordinators deserve their flowers, too. One client told me that her coordinator, Sarah, always paid attention to their needs and studied the itinerary thoroughly. She was constantly updating as well, which the couple appreciated. 

The main downside I can think of for this venue is that it’s not really accessible. It’s far from an MRT station, so guests might struggle to reach it, and sometimes, the lifts are off-limits. This is yet another inconvenience to the guests.
